The lithium battery so as long as you keep it charged up every 30 days it works great if you let it go for a long period of time the battery may die out
This is a very useful product. Every vehicle should have one of these, you will use it many times and also great to have, to help others who need a jump start or air in tires. This is similar to what AAA brings for roadside assistance. The price for this is a steal. I love it, and as always it's a great useful affordable gift.
I have become an independent woman, so I needed a battery charger. Stanley is a great name and didn’t disappoint. The only problem I had was finding an extension cord to fit to charge it. The charging port is at a weird an angle.
Was starting to leave my brother's home, my SUV only made a "clicking sound." I knew what that meant ... dead battery. He immediately brought out his older model Stanley Jump Starter with Compressor and my car started immediately. He demonstrated all the Jump Starter would do. Wow ... was I amazed. I think I was more excited about the Jump Starter than the fact that I could head to Auto Parts for a new battery. He was going to purchase one for me during the holidays (Christmas Gift), but I wanted the Stanley Jump Starter before then and ordered it online from Wal-Mart. This was my first experience of ordering online with Wal-Mart, but it was easy and the product arrived right on time. Great service.
I purchased this electronic tool to jump start my motor home cranking batteries (two in series) in an emergency condition. To my delight, this jump start feature had no problem with cranking my 400 HP diesel engine. I am delighted with this product and recommend it to motor home owners.
I have not used these because they are gifts as stated in the title. However, I have owned and use a 700-Amp version of the jumper for over 5 years now and it is still going strong. The only complaint or problem I have ever had with mine was with the plastic air hose connector (ref pic). This old style locking connector broke the first time I used it. Thankfully, Stanley has upgraded this connector with a better design. In fact, I am planning to replace the air hose on my unit with one of similar design. I purchased the higher output units for my children because I am a frequent user of my jumper and it struggles with extremely drained (dead) batteries or when jumping several cars one after another ( I have a car lot).
The Stanley starter is quite good, but it should have a replaceable battery. My old Stanley starter is in excellent condition but the battery has failed by now. NY State doesn't allow to trash rechargeable batteries, so where should I take this old unit for recycling? Should I take it to a Walmart store? Please reply, JL
I use this as a power source for the clock drive mount on my astronomical telescope and the USB port powers the autoguide (camera) providing periodic error corrections to the clock drive motors on the mount. Winter nights will find me out for 8-12 hours at a stretch in 15-25° temperatures. My previous tank(s) were rated @ 7 A-h and croaked after 3-4 hours. Did not fancy draining my automobile battery so this unit was an obvious choice. I'm thinking, now, about adding heater units (for the scope optics, not for the operator) with all the reserve power thisd gives me. :)
The unit does not charge. I had it plugged in for over 24 hours, it never made it to the final charge light/stage. When I needed to use it for an emergency, it did not even give a charge to my cell phone, a simple cell phone during an emergency - the unit just died! That was the very first time to use it, only two days after 3/4 of a charge. How disappointing! I needed it for emergencies, but it did not work.
Light was broken off the side. Does not hold charge. Didn’t jump my mower. Tried everything I could to get this thing to work. Junk. Also bought it new from the store.. but it was clearly used or returned. Broken, missing parts and not properly wrapped and stored in the box. Really disappointed.
