I have not used these because they are gifts as stated in the title. However, I have owned and use a 700-Amp version of the jumper for over 5 years now and it is still going strong. The only complaint or problem I have ever had with mine was with the plastic air hose connector (ref pic). This old style locking connector broke the first time I used it. Thankfully, Stanley has upgraded this connector with a better design. In fact, I am planning to replace the air hose on my unit with one of similar design. I purchased the higher output units for my children because I am a frequent user of my jumper and it struggles with extremely drained (dead) batteries or when jumping several cars one after another ( I have a car lot).
I use this as a power source for the clock drive mount on my astronomical telescope and the USB port powers the autoguide (camera) providing periodic error corrections to the clock drive motors on the mount. Winter nights will find me out for 8-12 hours at a stretch in 15-25° temperatures. My previous tank(s) were rated @ 7 A-h and croaked after 3-4 hours. Did not fancy draining my automobile battery so this unit was an obvious choice. I'm thinking, now, about adding heater units (for the scope optics, not for the operator) with all the reserve power thisd gives me. :)
The lithium battery so as long as you keep it charged up every 30 days it works great if you let it go for a long period of time the battery may die out
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jump starter works great! I used it to jump start our SUV and it worked perfectly. I love how it has other features like an air compressor and built-in LED flashlight. Very practical and multifunctional. It’s easily portable and easy to store to have on hand for when you need it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Stanley Jump Starter does everything that you need to get you out of a pinch safely. It's a solid piece. It's reliable enough to charge your cellphone or small gadgets, air your tires, has a flashlight, and jump start your vehicle all in one. However, it has a few annoyances for me. It doesn't include the power cord when it's time to recharge. It's pretty bulky, heavy and cumbersome. I don't like that you can't preset the psi gauge when airing your tires. Comparing it to the other current modern smaller models, I'd probably choose a more compact version.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The concept is great with one device that does multiple things. But I have to be honest, I was let down. When I used it for the first time, the charging plug got damaged. It was disappointing since I had just opened the box. The connector felt weak and broke when I was plugging it in normally. Besides that issue, the features are solid. It's compact and fits easily in my car trunk. The jump start function works well for dead batteries. The power inverter is handy for charging devices when I'm on the road or camping. I used the air for my car tires and the pump is efficient and battery holds very well during the use. The build quality feels decent overall, but obviously that charging port wasn't made to last. The weight is light enough to carry around without being a hassle. Performance-wise, when it works, it does the job. Good power output and the battery holds a charge well between uses. I wish the charging connector was more durable.
I have a dead battery and was really hoping this Stanley Jumpit 1000 would help me out. I also have car tires that need air, along with one that had gotten pretty flat. (My vehicle has been off the road, for a while.) First of all, I got pretty aggravated with the instructions. The print is so tiny, I could barely read it. In searching for instructional videos, including on the Stanley website, I could find very few, which were helpful. For one thing, every video shows the people connecting the red clamp to the positive AND the black clamp to the negative, on the battery - even though the instruction booklet says NEVER to do that. So which is it? It would be nice if Stanley had a decent instructional video out, for those of us who are unfamiliar, with this kind of product. Anyway, it did not facilitate my vehicle starting, which was a huge disappointment. I am not blaming the product, however, because I may really need a new battery or alternator. The compressor DID fill my tires, which I really needed. For that reason, I gave the product two stars. (I just want to add that putting air in car tires is a long, noisy, task.) I am keeping this device, as I may need it, in the future - it is also good for bicycle tires and I can use it, for that purpose.
This unit seems like it's won't fully charge, its been on charge from Friday evening 24 hours a day and this is Monday evening and the two red lights are on but the green light has never come on. The instructions say to charge for 40 hours on the initial charge however this is longer than 40 hours and no green light indicating a full charge.
The unit does not charge. I had it plugged in for over 24 hours, it never made it to the final charge light/stage. When I needed to use it for an emergency, it did not even give a charge to my cell phone, a simple cell phone during an emergency - the unit just died! That was the very first time to use it, only two days after 3/4 of a charge. How disappointing! I needed it for emergencies, but it did not work.
Light was broken off the side. Does not hold charge. Didn’t jump my mower. Tried everything I could to get this thing to work. Junk. Also bought it new from the store.. but it was clearly used or returned. Broken, missing parts and not properly wrapped and stored in the box. Really disappointed.
