Stansport Eagle Backpacking Tent - Forest Green

Ordered this as a backpack tent. This tent is less than half the size and weight of my two man dome tent. It has a classic simple design that incorporates some improvements over the last tent I had of this style. This simple and serviceable style is hard to find anymore.

Good little tent for the money. Definitely a one person tent and you can't be over 6ft tall.

pretty much easier to set up then most others. if you want to quickly set up then here you go. one man tent but that's just great if you're into the woods n forests to get away from all the drama around you.. I'm going to give a holy crap 500 thumbs up..

This tent is the best for camping taken it 3 times an easy set up quick take down an easy to put back in pack you have my vote 100% great product.

I set this up in the backyard after I got it and I sprayed it with waterproofer. It went up in about 3 minutes. Very simple. It has a good strong tub bottom, so you don't need a groundcloth, and a decent window in the back for ventilation. The only issue I see is that it is a bit short. I'm 5 foot 10 inches and my feet were only a couple of inches from the foot when my head was only a couple of inches from the door. But I did fit, and so did my usual dime store lightweight air mattress. I like it. The poles are a little heavy, but they are definitely strong. You can leave them home if you are camping in a forest where you can find some 3 foot sticks. I recommend it for a 1 person shelter. 2 people could fit, but they would want to be married.

Tested it out in the yard on a warmer winter day, not going to take it out to a campsite until Spring, but looks good so far. I sprayed the tent with water repellent and I am planning to seal the seams before I take it out camping. Very lightweight and fits easily in a backpack.

I used this tent for backpacking, both my friend and I have. If you're a regular backpacker that usually roughs it with just a tarp, you may enjoy this. The one big downside is that even with the front flaps open and the rear "window" open to add air flow, I woke up in the morning with the tent drenched in condensation. So ventilation is not the best with this tent. If you like to keep things very simple and you aren't picky and want to keep it inexpensive, I would recommend this tent. As far as where it needs to be staked to the ground, there are 3 stake spots along the left and right of the tent - then you have a stake that goes in the front from the top of the tent and same for the back of the tent - then you also have a stake that pulls the center of the sides. So in total, you have 10 places to stake down. I highly recommend getting x-shaped or y-shaped stakes, as the ones that come with it are just L-shaped little rods. Where we went out with these tents, the ground was rocky, which made it next to impossible to be picky about where to place the tent, so know in advance if the ground you will be camping at will have rocks under the surface. The X-shaped stakes you can buy through walmart help with this though. You will want to manually waterproof this tent - use a spray to heavily waterproof and also proof the seams. This tent will hold up with proper waterproofing. I used 2 cans of Scott's (brand) which cost about $10 at walmart and that was excessive for waterproofing, but you will be dry! (aside from morning condensation lol) Also, if you have bad knees or a bad back, I do not recommend this tent as you will need to crouch down and crawl into the tent. This tent is very short. You can fit two people in it if your equipment is stored elsewhere, otherwise a backpacker and a dog (like me) will be able to fit in very well. :-) I'm 5'5", my dog weighs about 60 lbs. and I had my backpacking gear and had a comfortable amount of room. :) Side note: this tent also has 1 mesh pocket in it that could fit a phone and some very small stuff - not much for a flashlight though. It took me about 5-10 minutes to set up this tent on my own. I hope someone finds this review helpful in deciding to buy this tent or not. ^.^

definitely not a two-man tent. maybe two children. I'm 5'10 so this just had enough room for me inside plus some gear. overall easy to assemble and take down. I had a hard time getting in because of the front stake, very small opening to crawl through. once inside it didn't seem bad but no way to sit up or move around if need be. not sure if I'm going to keep this tent or sleeping it again. May use it as an emergency tent if I find myself stranded or stuck somewhere. but definitely I won't be using it consciously to go camping. I'll have to find something else for that.

Neat tent but poor stitching, where the bathtub style floor meats the tent wall some of the stitching was not even stitched was just thread stretched across. Definitely seal the tent to be water proof if you don't plan on hanging tarp over it.

2nd backpacking trip i took it out. rained all night. going to pee sit up head is wet. getting in and out of the tent is a mission alone no space for a 5,9 30 year old to get in. water all inside in the morning clothes soaked. puddles INSIDE THE TENT. if it doesnt rain and there no morning dew id gove it 2.5 out of 5. if it rains or morning dew 1out of 5
