During the summer we noticed so many gnats and fruit flies everywhere (we had no fruit in sight) this is the only spray that would kill them instantly. The only thing is, it is extremely oily. So after you spray, the floor will be slippery if you have wood or if you spray those pesky demons in your bathroom. Also, our fruit flies actually turned into BIG BLACK FLIES and this spray killed them alllllll. Better than all the others. Hopefully the infestation will be over next year but if not i know what i'm getting
This is the best thing I have found for flying insects in the home. It killed our fruit flies that had come in from the cold last week. It's safe around kids, the elderly, and pets. Our household was a good example for it's use. No more toxic sprays for us. A great buy.
This product is great as far as getting the job done and eliminating pesty gnats, spiders, etc..., the only issue I've had is the initial twisting the top until you hear a click. Most of the time it works and sprays fine, while other times not so much. It's aggravating when it will not spray! I've had to return a few and get a replacement. It is on the greasy side so do not spray where you have to walk!
I am so torn in regards to a rating for this product since I both love it and hate it. To begin with, it really is one of the ONLY products that actually kills gnats on contact like a lot of products say they do, but don't. With other products (and we have tried so many) those horrible gnats just laugh and keep flying around. This STEM spray stops them dead in their tracks. That said, the oily film this spray leaves behind is almost as awful as the gnats themselves, and I am not exaggerating. No matter how little you try to spray, it looks as if you've spilled oil all over the place. If you have hardwood floors, it is just untenable. Also, we have four dogs and we literally had to close off the area for DAYS even though we threw towels on the floor because we really don't trust it to be safe for them seeing as the stuff won't dry on its own! Yes, gnats are probably (as we have found) one of the worst issues to deal with, and when dealing with such a pest problem you think there's nothing you won't go through to get rid of them. Unfortunately, the sopping mess this spray leaves behind is just a step too far. I simply cannot stress how much oily residue this spray leaves behind and therefore, just cannot recommend it.
this is an oil based product and if it is on the floor watch your step. my son fell because he slid on its oily residue it left behind. the smell is awful. i feel that in order to kill the flies i had to spray them direct contact. spend the extra dollar or two and get a product that works without the threat of injury .
Well, as many of us do, I figured out how to activate the sprayer and shot some product into the air (in the kitchen where the majority of the gnats were) and headed upstairs to bed in hopes that my morning coffee ritual would not be disturbed by little gnats buzzing my head. Morning comes, I head downstairs to get the coffee started and almost break my neck as my feet start slipping out from under me! I look down and see a lot of wet spots on the tile kitchen floor and wonder where it came from. Ohhh, I think to myself. Did that come from the gnat spray? I grab the spray where it says read directions before spraying. In the fine print it says “Dont spray into the air.” What? I read further and see that you're expected to wait until the gnat lands and then spray it from up to 18” away. Seriously??? Is one supposed to stand at the ready all day watching and waiting for a gnat to land?? And afterwards you're supposed to wipe the surface clean from the mess the spray left. Its just not pheasible for me; I have a life and dont intend to spend it waiting for gnats to land with an aerosol spray can in my hand. Spent my day washing all surfaces where that awful residue landed.
This is a terrible product! Following directions, I sprayed lightly in the air at the insects. It does not spray a light mist. It spreads a coat of oil and falls down on everything. Directions even say to wipe up and then use soap and water to remove. It also says it could stain. Anything within the line spray and all the way down has to be washed. Warnings say it will make floors slippery. It does, and now I have to wash my floor with soap and water to get it off. You can see what the surfaces look like in the picture. That doesn't dry and go away. It stays until you clean it off ....and since it is oily, it needs an oil remover. I am shocked at all the work and mess it created from a couple sprays. This needs to be taken off the market.
PLEASE READ I STRUCTIONS! If you use it as a general air spray it gets on EVERYTHING- %26is hard to remove even gets inside anything electronic and keeps it from working! Do not just spray around! Finally threw it away. Didn't work well, and made a huge mess
The only way this works is if you spray it right on the bug. It leaves a greasy residue everywhere it's sprayed. If I have to Chase the bugs, I might as well use a fly swatter and save myself the time and trouble of cleaning up the surfaces where the spray lands.
This STEM product if horrible. It does not take care of flying insects and it is like spraying baby oil into thr air. It ruins all papers, furniture, and anything it lands on after its sprayed into thr air. It's greasy and disgusting. Do not buy this! !!!
