Sterilite 11 Gal./42 L StepOn Wastebasket, White

I love this trashcan because of its durable step-on lid opener that is wide enough for my husband's size 13 foot, and the wide opening that allows me to easily scrap remains from large platters and plates without crumbs spilling onto the floor. Also, I like a CLEAN trashcan, and everything easily washes off this can. However, I almost bought this can in black, and because of it has a shinier finish, I noticed the black cans scratched easily and permanently. The white can does not show scratches and cleans easily with a little bleach water. For a trashcan that can handle a lot of trash, it has a relatively slim profile and fits nicely in my kitchen. I've had one can for at least 7 years, and I just bought another one for my bakery.

This trash can opens enough to throw away things by depressing the foot petal. What I like about it is that the covers does not trow itself open all the way like others do. It does not fall off. I also like that there is no metal connector. It is a thick plastic piece along the back (see photo) that holds the cover up and then closes when you release the foot petal. I use a medium bag that stays put with a phone book at the bottom of the pail. The only con is that when you need it wide open you need to use your hand but it is worth it since the mechanics are better than others. Do not try to open the top while you are depressing the petal. Make sure to connect the base to the top (press it on) when you get it for full functioning. There are no directions with the item.

Loved: space saving flat back can put in front of cabinets and still open the drawer not complicated, not full of bits that can go wrong; needs no batteries color, stay with me, is just the right shade of white: doesn't shout out WHITE PLASTIC Maybe almost a bisque white. Can't yet comment on durability. Just picked it up today. Ordered on line; picked up at store, no charge and great service. Representative unpacked this and another item to be sure all well. To save me the hassle of breaking down big book for local recycling rules, Wal Mart let me leave the box with them.

This garbage can works great. I was looking for a hands free white can and this is the only one of this size under$15 that I could find. It's exactly what I was looking for in my kitchen.

I didn't see a need to buy an expensive stainless can for inside a closet, so opted for this one. So far working out perfect. Its a nice size, so not having to change it out every day. It seems durable enough, although I haven't had it long enough to know.

Wanted this exact trash can, it is the same one we had until after 20 years, the plastic clip that holds on the lid broke off. When ordering, it said the delivery would be on or before June 22, it got here June 11th - two days after I ordered it. Good job Walmart, we were very happy it came early.

Perfect for a family of two. Usually with the amount I need to throw trash out once in a week. As it is covered no foul smell comes out . Very nice and durable

my cat has already tried to get into the trash can and she has made it fall over but she has not been able to get into it yeah i got this can so that i did not have to worry about my cat gettin into the trash and now she cant

It probably does not matter how you put the cover on, but if you use the cover to hold a trash bag liner in place (to keep it from falling in) then the clips break. You can't repair them either. And you can't get just a replacement cover. If you have a dog or cat who love getting into the trash, this is an economical solution. We're on our third unit and recently bought two more. We really like them, but they do have this design flaw.

The trash can arrived in no packaging, taped closed with packing tape, with the shipping labels directly taped on. It was dirty from shipping and sticky from all the tape. This was completely unacceptable packaging and I will not be ordering this again. Also, when I went to walmart to return the trash can I found it was cheaper on their shelf.
