From reviews everywhere, you'd imagine the odor would be too much for use in a small yard. We've found that as long as you stay a few feet away, it's doable. Flies in summer around a lake are a fact of life, and we know we can't eradicate them all, but this does make things a bit more pleasant.

I was skeptical at first. BUT....I was wrong! It works wonders. I have had it sitting on my back patio for 5 or 6 days now and flies are still squeezing in there! There are hundreds in there now. The attractant smells like death though....I was expecting a vinegar smell....nope...death. Worth it....100%!

About a week in half ago I bought 4 of the hangable pouches from my local TSC. It had become obvious it was going to be a wicked year for flies. I hung 2 by 2 chicken chops I have, 1 by my garden, and the last near the main entry hoping to catch flies before they came into the house. Within 3 days the ones by the coops were half full, the other about a quarter. Now they are all full and need replacing. They have a strong sort of decay smell but only noticeable when your right on top of them which must be the lure used to trick them into going inside. I'm pretty sure I'm also attracting the neighbors flies as well lol. Great product and I'd fully recommend it.

We were having a huge problem with flies hanging out around our patio and sneaking into the house whenever we opened the door. Tried everything and nothing worked until, by accident, I found the reusable outdoor fly trap at a local Ace and decided to give it a shot. Literally within 15 minutes after I set it up in the corner of our patio it started filling up with flies. I can't recommend this enough. Such a pleasure to find a product that actually works as advertised. Thank you!

Bought this on a whim, and never expected it to work so well. After buying one, ran out and got three more. I put them all around my house. You will be shocked how fast this thing can fill up. Glad I watched a video and found out it is reusable. Get one and try it out.

I have been using this brand of trap and lure for 3 years. Not going to lie, I definitely tried others, I even received other brands for free. This brand, RESCUE is the only one that ALWAYS catches flies. hundreds of flies. This year 2026 has been especially bad in Florida so I instead of only needing to use it for a few weeks, I am on my 2nd month. I decided to use only 1/2 of the lure in the correct amount of water, and I am still catching 100s of flies. They swarm around the top to get in. I have to empty it at least twice between my weekly trash collection. DO NOT let it get full and leave it. You will get maggots!! The photos shows a different trap but it has RESCUE lure inside and this is what it collected after only 2 days. I sure wish they sold the lure in bulk!

I purchased this one but haven't used it yet....used by others by the same company but smaller with throw away bags....the problem it that I used them on my front door where the flies were congregating and they drew even more flies so now I have to readjust and see if there is some place I could put it and it draw the flies away from y front porch and door I need to have a fly repellent that makes them fly away someplace else to die

Don't buy the Sterling Rescue R-DT12 Fly Trap with attractant, it's NOT worth it. Instructions say that after you put the attractant into the water, it takes two to five hours before it starts attracting flies. Guess what, it took more than two days. and even now, there aren't many flies in it, after over a week in use. They crawl all over the outside though. This product is reusable, but no extra attractant is given with it, nor do they give you any place to purchase more.
