I love these things - they start working right away - so good when you have outside animals!!

Sterling Fly Trap

This fly trap does do it's job but you have to let it set about a week before the scent start's to smell and the fly's start coming to it. The longer it sets more

Have fly problems? You need this.

CB July 5, 2023

These things are crazy effective! I like this one better than the hanging bag because there's less of a horrifying opportunity for me to mess up and spill it all over myself. I set this up on my back porch where the flies were all congregating, trying to get in to my house, and within one day I had the satisfaction of seeing that it was QUITE effective. There are still a couple of little fly jerks sneaking in the back door when we open it, but for the most part it seems like they are attracted to the jar. It's great. Will be ordering refills at the one month mark.

This Product Takes Care Of Business!

Anonymous August 8, 2021

From reviews everywhere, you'd imagine the odor would be too much for use in a small yard. We've found that as long as you stay a few feet away, it's doable. Flies in summer around a lake are a fact of life, and we know we can't eradicate them all, but this does make things a bit more pleasant.

Works great!!

tarajo23 July 28, 2021

I was skeptical at first. BUT....I was wrong! It works wonders. I have had it sitting on my back patio for 5 or 6 days now and flies are still squeezing in there! There are hundreds in there now. The attractant smells like death though....I was expecting a vinegar smell....nope...death. Worth it....100%!

Really works

maulable July 7, 2021

I got this because the disposable version filled up in a week, and this way I can add the fly corpses to my compost. I recommend keeping it 10 feet away from gatherings, because it's pretty smelly if you're downwind.

Okay I guess just didn't work like I thought it wo

Carolyn June 11, 2023

I purchased this one but haven't used it yet....used by others by the same company but smaller with throw away bags....the problem it that I used them on my front door where the flies were congregating and they drew even more flies so now I have to readjust and see if there is some place I could put it and it draw the flies away from y front porch and door I need to have a fly repellent that makes them fly away someplace else to die

Definitely Works

Danny June 26, 2021

Its actually quite effective. It doesn't get em all, but the dang jar fills up in no time. Stinks a little, so place it down wind of you; guess thats what makes it effective.

Don't buy the Sterling Rescue R-DT12 Fly Trap with attractant, it's NOT worth it. Instructions say that after you put the attractant into the water, it takes two to five hours before it starts attracting flies. Guess what, it took more than two days. and even now, there aren't many flies in it, after over a week in use. They crawl all over the outside though. This product is reusable, but no extra attractant is given with it, nor do they give you any place to purchase more.

Doesn't work on the flys in my area

Youper October 5, 2018

I have had it now for almost 2 months. It doesn't work on the suicide flys that are coming in my apartment. I have tried this and even the electric plug-in devices and nothing seems to work on them. This hasn't caught a single fly. So looks like I am back to square one. The windows are all shout and locked and they still get in.
