I like the fact that is is not metal......it is easy to push around when I need to.
I needed a lightweight economical solution for some work files at home. For the price, this unit is great. It is sturdy enough for me, attractive and suits my purposes. As it is lightweight it should not be meant for anything really heavy, but I would think that would be obvious.
the file cabinet is good so far. you need to be careful not to open it all the way because it will tilt over. other than that is good for filing papers.
I bought 2 of these for my home office. I would buy again, not sturdy like a metal cabinet, but I did not need one. I have not fully loaded them so I hope they stand up
This unit is light weight and easily moves around on bare floor and level loop carpet with no problem. Needed it to hold sheet music for our troupe and does the job nicely. The only problem was that they put the wrong lock in one of the drawers so key will not fit, but since we are not interested in this feature we will not be returning it. The product arrived assembled except for the wheels which attached easily. Very sturdy and love the color ... better looking and more stylish than black model.
If you need a file cabinet to hold some files in one place, this will do the job. It's light (when it's empty that is) so it's easy to move around. Don't expect it to actually protect anything you lock in though, because anybody with average strength can easily tear it open with their bare hands. In fact, you will accidentally break it if you try to lift it pulling on the wrong spot. In the end I found a metal cabinet in store at Walmart that is only $15 more, and much better value for money.
I purchased this as a gift for someone who just wanted a simple alternative to a banker's box. It's lightweight plastic. It fits legal and letter hanging folders. It's essentially 2 separate one-drawer units, that are held together only by 2-way thick/spongy tape. My understanding is that you can add additional units by taping them on top in the same way. This 2-drawer unit was taped together crooked... they were not stacked evenly on top of each other. The drawers have not yet been filled, so I'm not sure how easily they will slide opened/closed once the weight of the files has been added. This is a good cabinet for someone who needs an organized place to store things, but not intended for daily use.
The item is not sturdy, it is like hard plastic, the drawer are always stuck when I pull it out. The drawer are not deep enough for files.
This filing cabinet is very wobbly and the second you open a drawer the entire thing shifts forward as if it is going to tip over (and yes the bottom drawer is being used so that is not the problem, it is simply made too cheap/light). I purchased a filing cabinet to keep files organized, yet I avoid using it because it tips and wobbles and creates more of a problem then a solution. Also when we took the filing cabinet out of the box, it had scratches all over, the top of the filing cabinet came dented in so the top drawer does not close completely and the one lock does not work what so ever. Overall super unhappy with this purchase... I wouldn't purchase this if it was $10 let alone what I paid for it. If I could give.
This locked filing cabinet came looking like it had been transported from the local garbage dump. It was dirty and had scuffs all over it. Not only that but if you are like me and bought this for the locking feature go with a steel filing cabinet. The lock on this unit does not work. I would lock the cabinet then wiggle the plastic gently and it would open right up. The only pro was the mint color was pretty (though this is where the black scuffing was most noticable). I will be returning this week. Save your money and pass on this one.
