Barley straw is used to clarify pond water. What I received is exactly what I needed.

One barley bale keeps string algae out of my 1000 gallon fish pond every year. I put it in 2 months before warm weather to get the bacteria started.

Just one day, and WOW! This really makes a difference. I regularly clear my 250 gallon pond. I have two filters that I clean every three days in addition to scrubbing the liner with a stainless steel scrubbing pad. But the water never really gets as clear as I want it. I got my barley bundles yesterday and put one in, and wow! Just one day and I can already see to the bottom of the pond. This will make maintenance a breeze since I can now see all the debris and dead leaves at the bottom. I Highly recommend this product. Plus delivery was supper fast!

Took a few days to take full effect, but our outdoor goldfish pond went from green water to clear. We love being able to see our fish without having to clean the filters every single day. Arrived before expected, too.

would not recommend buying the barley straw . It does not work .my pond is still green, and they have been in the pond for three days . People have claimed that it works in an hour , that's a joke .
