Clorox Pool&Spa pH Down, Reduces pH in Swimming Pools, 5 lb Bag, Granules

Gets the job done, no complaints. I'm on well water that is fairly alkaline so I need to use this every time I add water. Granules about the size of coarse table salt, dissolve pretty fast when added in small quantities. Once in a great while the built in zip closure doesn't close well but that's about it.

I use it because it's easier than muriatic acid and without fumes and easy to clean up if spilled without damaging things or bleaching them out or burning holes in your clothes, and cheaper than Magic acid. It's still acid once activated in water, and you still should use eye and hand protection and be careful in the wind it doesn't blow into your face. So safety is still %231. Prices vary, but you can find it on sale and stock up. i find I go through more when using unstable liquid chlorine, which has high alkalinity. I learned not to put more than 32 oz in at one time and then wait a day, at the same time, and test again to adjust further or you may put in too much.

Shipment arrived fast. All the bags were wrapped in a plastic bag. That was a great idea since some of the bags leaked. The Clorox Ph Down works great. I will be ordering more. Thank You

This is my first season as a saltwater pool owner and I've been using this as it was the easiest and most convenient for me to get and the value was good. Saltwater pools tend to have ph that drifts up so I'm usually adding this every couple of weeks to keep it in the range I want it and it works perfectly. I used to weigh it out but now have one cup I reserve for it that has markings on the side to save time. I always dissolve it in a bucket of pool water before adding to my deepend. It's much safer than muriatic acid but will still burn if you get it in a cut, so always be careful. It will also leave marks on stainless steel if it sits too long.

This product has worked well for me to bring the pH down in the pool. The chlorine is constantly shooting it up, so this works well to get it back down to an acceptable level. I just sprinkle in the appropriate amount and then brush the pool to make sure the chemical does not accumulate on the floor.

We went with the Clorox products because this is our first pool. Clorox has test strips that come with a free app so you can scan it and then it tells you what you need to add and how much. So far we have managed to get the water to the correct pH. Very happy with the product so far.

I love this product. I have a salt water pool so the PH is always high. Unfortunately I am afraid to use the liquid acid to bring down the PH since it can burn your skin. This is a super easy alternative that is safe to use. I recommend getting a bucket and partially dissolving it with some pool water before dumping it in so that you have less to brush off the bottom.

I used a whole bag of this in a 22×12 pool and the PH was still high. it also gunked up my salt cells. I used Merrick acid one time and the PH stayed down the rest of the season this stuff didnt even last w week

Be careful! I added this to my pool and it IMMEDIATELY turned green again and my oh levels were even higher!!!!

This brought my alkalinity down but barely touched my PH. Now I'm having to add Sodium Bicarbonate to bring my alkalinity back into range and guess what that will do to my PH. 30,000 gallon pool, Alk-100, PH-7.8, Calcium-260, Chlorine - 1.8, CYA-30,Temp-80 before applying. After adding 18oz each night for 4 nights my PH is still above 7.8 and my alkalinity has dropped to 75! Going back to Muriatic Acid as much as I hate to work with it.
