I had to buy these prunes because I was very constipated from some medication I had taken. I remembered my grandmother used to eat these sometimes. So I was desperate and bought these to see if they helped. It took a few times to get used to the taste. They did work for me and I was relieved.
I'm 94 and have loved prunes since I was a little girl. My mom said they were good for digestion. I eat 3 twice a day and they still work. Never used Ex-Lax or similar "helpers"'. Some people like them cooked. I like them right from the container. Thanks for requesting my opinion.
I love prunes %26 would sit %26 eat the whole bag, but that would be a mistake. So, I have a serving of 5-6 every evening, reseal the bag %26 go through about a bag %26 a half each month. Full of fiber %26 potassium, this larger bag is a good choice.
I bought these Sunsweet prunes after damaging a tooth on Great Value prunes. Unlike the Great Value prunes, when these say pitless, they actually are! These are much more expensive than the Great Value product, but given that my tooth cost about $1000 to fix, these will save money in the long run. The only quality downside I've experience so far is that a small percentage of prunes in each bag are kind of tough, and not tender like all the other prunes. But not breaking my teeth on pits makes up for this small issue!
Sunsweet prunes are an ideal snack if you have a sweet tooth and want to satisfy it in a healthy way. Their prunes are always juicy and fresh, especially if they're placed in the fridge. However, don't eat more than about 6-7 or you may run to the bathroom. I also wish these prunes were a little cheaper. Compared to trying to grow them yourself, I suppose they aren't expensive.
Had not had prunes since I was a little kid and I didn't like them because my mother said they were healthy and so I decided they tasted bad. I saw some ads for prunes on TV and decided to see if I liked them now. Yum Yum. Not only are they healthy they are one of the best sweet treats I have had in a long time. Sweet - great texture - wonderful surprise.
Sunsweet has the perfect California prunes. Very very rare to find pit fragment ... just right texture, moisture and flavor. Read package, I think Best prunes are from California. Sunsweet does use prunes from other countries...and will say so on package.. when they do.
These are normally moist, sweet and delicious. I eat a few nearly every day as a serving of fruits and fiber. Out of many I've ordered, I've only got only one bag in the last (2-3) years from Walmart that was dry and hard. I reported it and they refunded me. My only issue is wondering why the price has gone up about 40% in the last couple years.
It's a personal preference, nothing wrong with the product, and I ordered it in the bag instead of the cardboard round because people had shipping issues. Its just the prunes are very soft as a whole. I prefer fruit with a texture and chew, these are not them. If you need softer foods this is a great choice, the 3 stars is for my personal preference, the prunes themselves are perfect and I have encountered no pits or shards as many people mentioned with the great value brand. Sunsweet is top tier and these are a decent value.
the packer that packed up the box with the prunes and the other stuff I got was careless and put a bag of prunes in my box that had a big hole in it ... they would of known it had a big hole in it and done it anyway cause the hole was big .....no I'm not returning it I just put duct tape over top of the hole n went on....
