Super Mario™ 3D World + Bowser’s Fury - Nintendo Switch [Digital]

My kindergarten-age son plays all the different Mario games on the switch, and this is by far his favorite! It's pretty fun for me as well.

I've been looking for this game on sale, because I don't think any game that is over a couple years old should ever be full price! Either way. I finally found it on sale at a price I was willing to pay, and it did not disappoint! I would recommend this game to anyone that is a Super Mario fan!

When it comes to family-friendly video games, few franchises hold the same timeless magic as Mario. Among the many titles in the series, Super Mario 3D World stands out as one of the best. Originally released on the Wii U and later brought to the Nintendo Switch, this game has proven to be a perfect blend of classic Mario charm and modern creativity. After playing it with my family, I can confidently say that it is a fantastic game for players of all ages—including my 3- and 6-year-old children, who both found endless joy in it. One of the biggest strengths of Super Mario 3D World is its accessibility. Many video games can feel overwhelming for young children, but this one strikes the perfect balance between challenge and approachability. The controls are simple and responsive, making it easy for kids to pick up and play. My 3-year-old was delighted just to run around, jump, and collect coins, while my 6-year-old quickly grasped the basics of power-ups and teamwork. The game doesn't punish players too harshly, which keeps frustration levels low and encourages everyone to keep trying. The cooperative multiplayer is where the game truly shines as a family experience. Up to four players can join in, each controlling one of the classic characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad. Each character has slight differences—Peach can float, Luigi jumps higher, Toad runs faster—which gave my kids a chance to find a favorite and stick with it. Playing together sparked plenty of laughter, as we sometimes helped each other succeed and other times accidentally got in each other's way. Either way, it was always fun. Visually, the game is a treat. The bright colors, imaginative levels, and whimsical design are captivating for children and adults alike. From grassy plains and icy slopes to spooky mansions and candy-coated worlds, every stage feels fresh and inviting. The Cat Suit power-up, introduced in this game, became an instant hit with my kids. They loved climbing walls, scratching enemies, and racing around as adorable feline versions of their favorite characters. Another thing that makes Super Mario 3D World such a great family game is its variety. Each level brings new ideas and mechanics, so the game never feels repetitive. There are hidden secrets and collectibles for older players to seek out, while younger players can still enjoy reaching the flagpole at the end of each stage. This layered design means that parents and kids can play together, each finding fun at their own level of skill. As a parent, I also appreciated the way the game fosters cooperation and patience. My children learned to wait for one another, celebrate each other's successes, and laugh off their mistakes. For a family gaming session, it's rare to find something that engages everyone without being too difficult for the youngest players. Overall, Super Mario 3D World is an outstanding family game.

Super Mario™ 3D World Bowser's Fury may be an older title, but it remains an absolute gem for gamers of all ages—kids, parents, and longtime fans alike. It's fun, charming, and packed with hours of entertainment. I purchased the digital version and was pleasantly surprised by the price. While the Nintendo eShop still lists it at $59.99, I found it at Walmart for just $39.88—an incredible deal for a game of this quality. Not only do you get Super Mario 3D World, but the bundle also includes Bowser's Fury, adding even more value and content for players. At this price, you're getting two fantastic experiences in one. The purchasing process was seamless. I received my download code quickly via email, and installation on my console was fast and trouble-free. If you've been on the fence, now's the perfect time to grab this classic at a great price. Highly recommended!

Nintendo patched this game to improve graphics on the Switch 2 and it looks fantastic, especially Bowser's Fury. Great dual game. I wish Bowser's Fury was a little longer or there was a sequel incoming. Throwback to the Mario 64 style play.
