start your pot or pan with a half or whole tablespoon of butter and a teaspoon or 2 of chicken bouillon per can. put these ingredients in the pan with a clove or 2 of garlic, let those 3 fry together a until golden brown, THEN pour in your can of dumplings, liquid and all. once it's all heated up, add some really good black pepper and wha la, you have a delicious, cozy dinner done easily.

I only received 15 cans of sweet sue chicken %26 dumplings. Three different shipping containers two delivered one pick up. If you are going to keep up with Amazon you need to get a whole lot better at it

It really should be called dumplings and chicken because it's all dumplings with maybe 20 little tiny bits of 3-D printed chicken quality has really gone downhill. Not sure what's going on corporate wise, but it's not the product we used to eat when we were kids.

I used to eat this product ALL THE TIME, but it was awhile ago. My whole family ate this on a regular basis for meals and snacks. I have not bought it in a few years due to trying to lower salt and carbs, but I just got a craving for it and orderd a case of it. I was extremely disappointed. The worst part was, instead of the shredded hunk or two of chicken in it, now it has those little almost fake tasting small squares of what is supposed to be chicken, I guess, but it looks like the chicken pieces in cat food and is rubbery. It is just awful. The only think that is close to the same are the dumplings, but they are so salty they will about burn your tongue. Now I have 7 cans of it I won't be eating, but I will give it to a relative who probably will eat it. I loved this product so much and am very sad it's changed it's recipe.

Our family has been eating Sweet Sue since they were $1 per can (16oz). 25 years. The dumplings were always whole dumplings packed tightly in a thick solid base that turned into a thick, delicious-flavored gravy when heated. THESE ARE NOT THOSE SWEET SUE CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS. What you get now, for 3 TIMES THE PRICE, is a can of broken up scraps of dumplings in basically flavorless chicken broth with tiny chunks of chicken pieces. IT'S HORRIBLE. There was NOT ONE whole dumpling in any of the cans that I purchased which matched how much flavor was in them. THE DUMPLINGS SHOWN ON THE CAN ARE THE DUMPLINGS OF THE PAST! Sweet Sue USE to have a very distinct flavor which it no longer has. It has no flavor at all now. Just bland chicken broth without much chicken flavor. And, it use to be in a thick gravy that you could easily pour over mashed potatoes and/or biscuits, which is what we always did, but it's yellow colored water now. Probably why they put food coloring in it. Pouring this inferior product over anything would just turn it into mush. Sweet Sue is nothing more than overly-expensive SOUP ... minus the flavor... minus the ingredients like carrots, onions, rice, etc...and minus the dumplings! If you want good chicken and dumpling soup, just go buy good chicken and dumpling soup and save your money. The only people who could possibly be enjoying this are people who never ate the original Sweet Sue's. THIS IS "COVID" SWEET SUE'S! The version big companies turned out during the pandemic saying that they couldn't survive unless they gave the public a cheaper, inferior product for more money but even though they were required to go back to their original product/price after the pandemic was over, some haven't and loyal customers are still (being gouged) paying the higher price for the pandemic product. Couldn't they have survived by trimming a few bucks off of multi-million dollar salaries and bonuses for a year? Anyway.... I tried the other top brand (Dinty Moore Chicken and Dumplings $3.78) and it is still very similar to, they taste delicious, they have whole dumplings and thick gravy and are my new go-to chicken and dumpling choice for piling over mashed potatoes or biscuits or even just eating from a bowl. Dinty Moore Chicken and Dumplings makes a fantastic quick and easy dinner when poured over Bob Evans Microwave Mashed Potatoes ($4 Family Size) and you can feed a family of 4 for under $8-$9. And, the mashed potatoes are fantastic, too. Just an FYI. But, I wouldn't recommend Sweet Sue's anymore.

The most awful bland taste. Nothing like it used to be. Like eating wet flour. Will make you gag. I'm so disappointed.

These cans were so bent in half (1of them), and nearly in half that I feel the seam is compromised and makes this item unsafe to eat! Very angry about this- we live more than an hour away!!

Do yourself a favorczndcdont buy this. Looks and smells like cat food, taste was bland and I couldn’t even eat it all. Bleh Sauce is watery, more like chicken noodle soup. Chicken is small cubes of what looks like lunch meat. Lacks flavor, do yourself a favor and if you must buy canned get denty more

This shouldnt be called chick and dumplings. It had zero taste. It was bland and "dumplings" were soggy pieces of dough with no taste. the "chicken" were diced pieces of something, not sure what. over all? dont buy, dont waste almost 4$ for a complete laughable product.
