Tarn-X Household Tarnish Cleaner and Remover for Silver, Platinum, Mixed Metals, 12 fl oz

Bought a small silver platter at a flea market in the 90's and stored it for 20 or so years. It took me about 40 minutes to clean at my stove with the exhaust fan on and wearing gloves. I posted pics but they may not show the reality. The platter has no markings so it's probably silver plated. Forgot to take a before pic for the front.

I bought TarnX today because i needed to shine my mouth grill because the shine had gone completely away. Instead of throwing my jewlery away. I tried this. AND IT WORKS MAGIC AND FAST!!!!! I was very skeptical at first but i read the reviews. I cleaned my items with warm water first. And used a toothbrush to clean it rinsed it water again and simply dryed it with a papertowel. And taddaaa its back to new. Thanks i hope my review helps someone

On time arrival, a good product, but strong. Like most cleaning or processing chemicals, its effective but strong. Read the precautions and how to proceed. You can't rely totally on it to remove all tarnish, or you might melt your item. Watch it carefully, swish the product over your item. Since most tarnish happens unevenly, stop before all of the tarnish is removed or you might find your item crumbling away. A drop of antibacterial dish detergent on the item in your palm and gentle rubbing will likely take the last traces away. Taking your time, rinse in cool water as much as needed. Voila, your done.

I love this product. Professional's use this to clean all their silver. Follow directions it can harm skin and don't apply to stones in jewelry

This is wonderful for removing tarnish, but be sure not to let items soak in it. It can remove too much coating. Just place object in tarn-x, swirl a few seconds, remove the item and rinse with warm water.

Still have a little left to clean with after cleaning a very tarnished large silver jewelry box. Tarn- X is an excellent silver cleaner also for tough jobs.

Im 61 years ild and my Mom used this stuff as far back as my teen years. Good, old, proven product. One bottle will last for years unless you clean silver flatwear every week.

The delivery instructions says to deliver it unit B, which is in big letters on the door. It was dropped off right next-door at unit A and didn't come till like 9 o'clock at night and said it was coming at 3:05. Usually I get delivered right at my door which is a B just thought I'd let you know.

TarnX is good for being able to dip your fork tines in for a quick tarnish removal ... but is definitely not as good at truly shining silver as the old fashioned silver cream, and you'll still need to use at least a little bit of rubbing to have the polish work well. In a nutshell it is easy to use and works, but not superbly, and will stink up your house like sulfur.

It barely worked at all on my silver. The paste silver polishes work much better. the good news is that it does not have a strong smell.
