I feel like the clip placement might a little off on this thermostat because when I use it %26 try to read temperature it's awkward. Otherwise this is a great thermometer %26 it works very well.
The temperature was off. Caused me to overcook my candy. Discovered after first batch, on my second batch I compared the actual tempture using another cooking thermometer I had.
I used this for candy making and when my mixture was gradually increasing in temperature I noticed the gauge on this going down then up. I tested with another digital thermometer and it was 30 degrees different. Don't recommend.
It is only good if ur using a very tall pot . With a smaller pot it doesn't accurately give u the temperature
they substituted this on my order. the pan holder is very flimsy, and does not hold in place. The thermometer does not read accurately, and i would not trust it at all.
Did not work as candy thermometer. The pan clip put it at an angle into the pot, putting the tip toward the middle of the pot. My wooden spoon whacked it as I was stirring sending it into the air. So I got boiling candy on my arm. Fun stuff.
Did not work. It was like 30 degrees below what my other thermometer said. I burned my first batch waiting for the food to get up to temp. Well it was, the thermometer just wasn't. I tried again and used another thermometer when I was surprised it wasn't done. It was done this thermometer just is terrible. Do not waste your money!!!
May be fine for sticking in a deep fryer, but it's certainly not good for candy! It's so long and top heavy that you would need a pan at least 8 inches deep, with 4 or more inches of candy to get a proper read.
It didn't work at all, which caused a loss of money in items used for baking and major stress. I had high hopes and they were crashed, had to return. My candy was over 300 degrees and it barely read 150, I knew something was off when it was burning.
It isn't calibrated right. I have already thrown away the package but it read 150 degrees and I used my thermometer pen and it read 350 degrees. I would like to return if possible
