This thermometer has been in my refrigerator to monitor for high temperature from potential power outages overnight. The hi temperature resets every 24 hours and the gauge is easy to read as well. We use it to monitor the temperature in our refrigerator and it's been highly reliable. You can reset the hi and low temperature to monitor the temps for varying reasons, or just use it as a thermometer in your refrigerator, or elsewhere for accurate temperature readings. Note this device gets excellent battery life, and it's still running on the original battery (supplied) for months. Highly recommended.
I have an older refrigerator that tends to cool down more than I want so picked this up to double check the temps in my fridge. It's one of those simple tools that immediately earns its keep. The display is large and easy to read. I keep it hanging under a shelf using the included hook so it stays our of the way, I really like that it shows current temperature along with the min and max. That makes it easy to spot fluctuations you might otherwise miss. Accuracy seems solid so far, and it's reassuring to know whether the fridge is running too warm or colder than necessary. This is a small, inexpensive item, but it adds peace of mind and helps prevent food waste. Overall, a practical and well designed thermometer that does exactly what it should.
We aren't using the adhering plastic part, but it is nice to have it so the thermometer can be attached to a surface; we bought it to see if our fridge is needing to be replaced or just temp adjusted as we didn't want to lose any more food to inaccurate temperature readings. It's easy to clear previous readings to track temps over a specific time -- having the highest and lowest reading easily visible is helpful.
This is a tough item to review. It is very accurate but it only stays in place, where you hang it, until you touch it and it falls. Almost impossible to put it somewhere where it won't get knocked off the rack it was hung on. But, due ri it's accuracy, I am buying another to lay in the crisper. At least.in there, in won't be falling down all the time.
I installed the Taylor Digital Safety Zone thermometer in my fridge to monitor internal temperatures closely, and I couldn't be more pleased. The oversized LCD display shows the current temp clearly, along with daily min/max readings—perfect for spotting temperature drifts without opening the door all the time. The printed “Safe Zone” markings right on the body make it effortless to know if you're within the recommended range at a glance, whether reading in Fahrenheit or Celsius. This thermometer includes both a clip and a suction cup, so you can position it wherever it's most visible—on a shelf, side wall, or even attached to a wine fridge or garage freezer. I placed mine at eye level, and it gives me peace of mind every time I open the door, especially during summer when temperatures can fluctuate unexpectedly. It's lightweight and runs on a CR2032 battery (included), and I've had no issues with functionality or display over weeks of use. The min/max tracking helps me detect temperature spikes, such as during a power outage or heavy door use—details that could significantly affect food safety. Given the FDA recommends fridge temps between 35 °F and 38 °F (never above 40 °F), having this thermometer has been invaluable for preventing spoilage and maintaining confidence in my appliance's performance.
I have one of these already in my fridge. Needed one for the freezer. I noticed the battery case door now is fastened with a tiny screw that needs a tiny phillips head screw driver. The old one just twists to open. Much much easier and simpler. Please eliminate the screw and go back to just twist and open. Other than that, love it!
Directions said to remove plastic tab which prevented battery drain. However, after removing battery cover pull tab would not come out. I even used pliers to grip and tab only broke off. I ordered 3 and none of tabs would pull out. Had to physically remove battery to remove pull tab. After that, they worked fine.
Different than described no thumbnail opening on battery compartment but a tiny micro Phillipshead that is tinier than any I have so unable to open to see if there's even a battery in it, which unit doesn't come on so idk?! Would have been better with thumbscrew but oh well…. Buttons feel cheap, loose.
Item did not work. I'm guessing there's no battery or the battery is dead. So this is probably very old stock? Cannot recommend. The screw to remove and insert the battery is so tiny I could not even check to see if there was a battery inside. I don't own a screwdriver that small and one was not included. Package says battery was included.
Two of the three I ordered are at the town dump. The plastic strip that needed to be removed to let the battery power the thermometer broke off on both of them and the battery did not send power to the thermometer. A fail/defective rate of 67% of the thermometers that I received is not acceptable.
