Good Value for Nice USB Stick

Gary September 17, 2024

The Price is very good the feel of the stick is comfortable to hold and carry in your pocket. The cap snaps on the other end when removed from USB, which helps for not hunting where the cap is after use. The only con to the stick that I found is there is no activity light. I use Media Tester to check the data and speeds and I placed the summary data for one below. I bought three and all were as follows: Averge write speed: 21,654,804 Bytes/sec Averge read speed: 40,043,174 Bytes/sec Removing temp data files... Removed 29 temp data files. Verified 30,945,574,912 Bytes of 31,015,956,480 Bytes total. Media test PASSED! This may increase for you if your machine has 3.2 USB ports. For me and my machine these are a good fit, and recommend them.

Very Slow

Anonymous July 12, 2024

Write speed: 13MB/s. Read spee: 33MB/s. Comes formatted at FAT32. You can easily re-format it for NTFS (native for Windows), if you intend to store files over 4GB in size (FAT32 cannot handle files over that size). The cap is attached. It can be lost. The drive has no activity light. -- Performance: Folks, this flash drive proclaims to be USB 3.2. Yet, it runs at USB 2.0 speeds. Perhaps its controller is technically rated at USB 3.2. But its NAND storage cells (the place where the data actually gets stored) are bottom-of-the-barrel quality (likely QLC NANDs, and the slowest of the QLC pickings -- like rejects no quality QLC based flash drive would use). NAND cells are either (from fastest to slowest) SLC, MLC, TLC, or QLC. SLC is very expensive, and the cost decreases until you get to the inexpensive QLC. This flash drive is 100% QLC -- and not good quality QLC. An entry level USB 3.0 speed should exceed 125MB/s. And the manufacturer actually rates this product at USB 3.2 speed, which is far faster than USB 3.0. That takes chutspah, for a drive that performs badly even if it were a USB 2.0 drive. If the manufacturer rated this drive as USB 2.0, then I would have given it a somewhat positive review. But slapping "USB 3.2" on the package will result in more sales. Who is this flash drive good for? Someone that will use it sparingly, but needs 32GB of storage. For example, saving important documents, or some videos, one time. Because if you have to do it often, the slow speed will be irritating. For the price, you will get what you paid for -- which is not much. You get the capacity, and that's about it.
