I've never seen anything work so quickly and throughly. One day ants, three days gone completely! The ants were crawling up my poles to get to the hummingbird feeders. I put a pot with soil and then the Terro in the pot right by the pole. Ants gone! I'll be buying more of this wonderful product!!
Ive been using Terro ant poison for years. It works fast and it's mess free. I could hire a pest control company, but I don't want to be surrounded by poison. I put new Terro outdoor baits around my house every 4 months and it keeps the ants out. If I forget, and a few ants find their way inside, I use a Terro indoor bait, and the problem goes away within 24 hours.
I would recommend these for small places or plant pots that are not very deep, because they worked very well in those scenarios. In large or deep pots, they were not very effective, likely because they don't hold enough of the bait to treat colonies that large
I rarely review items. Only if they are especially good or especially bad. This product is VERY good. I have been fighting HUNDREDS of little sugar ants invading my home for the past few weeks. They are mostly in the kitchen, but also in the bathroom. I was using a spray that was very effective at killing the ants I could see. But the invasion would continue - usually within 24 hours. I put just 4 of these spikes in the ground right outside my kitchen. The first day it decreased the ants by 90%. Day 2 and beyond I only occasionally see an ant - maybe 5 ants per day.
I use these and the flat clear trays every year and they work to keep ants out of the house. I put the stake style in a perimeter around my house. Probably around 15 or so and then I tape the trays to a couple of my outer window sills. Yes the flat trays are exposed to the elements but I believe they do help. Using both styles seems to work well for where I live.
It's that time of year again....ant season! We had a few spots in the yard with an unacceptable amount of ant activity and they were forming a lunch line into our crawl space. I put these stakes around the yard in spots they were forming ranks and they were under control in a few days. These did what our exterminator couldn't do and are a very good price comparatively. Easy to use and they do what they say they will do. Excellent. Will buy again.
After seeing a couple ants inside, I used these last year around the outside of my home and had no ants inside after I put them out. I already put new ones out this year and the ants have stayed away. Very easy to install and they're barely visible.
I purchased these last year as well. We had ants coming into the back bedroom before we purchased the ant stakes and the ant stakes took care of the problem. We have a kitten now and I did not want ants coming in and getting into her food, so I purchased the ant stakes before they could. They have worked great for us.
These ant bait stakes work very well, and are inexpensive. I live in Oklahoma and used to get little ants in my house every Spring until I started using these Terro ant bait stakes outside around my house. I have used them for several years now, and have not had an ant in my house since then. I only need to put them out once per year, but if you live in an area where ants are active all year long, you will need to put them out more than once. They are see-through so that you can check the liquid level and replace them when they are empty. They are tall and narrow so I can place them against my house where they are out of the way of the lawn mower. They are stakes, so they have to go into the dirt. You get eight per package, four attached so you have to separate them. They are easy to use; the only problem I have is they can sometimes be a little awkward to cut open, and occasionally I get a little of the liquid on my hands. Totally worth it for how well they work.
The new casing isn't as good as the old stuff. It's flimsy plastic and hard to get into the ground vs the old stakes, but the formula seems to be the same and it does what it needs to do. If you have harder soil this may be difficult to stick into the ground.
