The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

I'm a huge fan for westerns especially the classics. I was really happy to find this movie at Walmart. Thank you.

We love westerns and this one who shot Liberty Vance is a classic it had bullys on it and heros.

Very good movie! Not my favorite John Wayne movie but it has one of the better casts.

This was a black and white movie but that added to the nostalgia for me. Excellent vintage James Stewart, and John Wayne and the villain Lee Marvin makes this one of my favorite Westerns.

Great movie! They don't make movies like this anymore.

This is one of John Ford's greatest westerns. The cast is incredible. John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Lee Marvin at his very meanest ever in any movie, Edmund O'Brien, Andy Devine as a bit of comic relief and a totally useless sheriff, John Carradine as a blowhard politician, and Strother Martin and Lee Van Cleef in his pre spaghetti western days as Lee Marvin's partners in crime. It's really basic in its structure and story. It's good guys and bad guys. The acting, direction, lighting and overall look of the movie is spectacular. Now I move on to the Blu-ray itself. Excellent picture, sound, subtitles and price all make it worth buying. But, I have the DVD which is a two disc set where one of the discs is the movie and the second disc is loaded with special features. This Blu-ray has absolutely no special features which for a movie of this quality is ridiculous. It was priced right and I wanted to up the picture quality but I never even bothered to look if there were any special features. If you have the centennial collection two disc set of this movie you really don't need this blu-ray. The picture is pretty good on the DVD and as I said you're not going to get any extras with this Blu-ray. So there it is, great movie, weak Blu-ray presentation. But if you don't have the DVD, this is well worth the low cost of the Blu-ray because the movie is still great no matter what.
