There are foreign objects in this salt that are clearly not salt. I left the salt in soaking in a cup for 20 minutes, then stirred the contents, only to find large pieces that had not dissolved. After retrieving the undissolved pieces, I actually tasted them, and not only did they have no taste, but they also could not be ground up due to their rigidity. Now, I will admit that without being able to actually test these pieces, there is no real definitive way for me to tell exactly what these things are. However, with that said, the only probable conclusion in my mind is that these small pieces are in actuality small stones that were mined with the salt itself.
