It works wonderful on our deck

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I build cedar raised garden beds and herb planters. I use Thompson Waterseal clear wood sealer for all my projects. It brings out the natural beauty of cedar while giving it a long-term waterproof and UV proof coating.

Looks like most negative reviews are from people not prepping properly or even at all before using this, there's instructions on how to prep wood BEFORE applying the sealer for a reason, if you do the prep/follow directions this sealer is fantastic, yall need to stop putting it on over chipped paint then acting like its the products fault.

I live in the coastal mountains, so a lot of weather conditions. It's been 5 years and the fence barely looks weathered. Getting ready to treat it again. Hopefully it will last another five years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought 3 gallons for my small patio and fence. Used it on my parents 18' x 36' multi level deck. We do this once a year. Added my mother in laws deck with another gallon plus a neighbours 20x 24 deck for another gallon. You should sell it in 5 gallon pails. A friend asked for help and was using Olympic and it was not even close. No penetration, terrible coverage.

This product brought the cedar shakes back to life,!!

I didn't get what I ordered and can was all bent up .

We ordered two cans of the Thompsons Waterseal 21806 6 Gallon Clear Wood "Protector" (top of can is green). We have used this product for years. What arrived was two cans of Thompson's WaterSeal Clear Wood "Sealer" (top of can is blue), which is a different product. It looks like Wood Protector is no longer available, which means this page needs to be taken down.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We applied Thompson's Water Seal Advanced to our 1000 sq foot deck, built of Micro Pro Sienna treated wood , built in 2018. First we swept, vacuumed, spot sanded, carefully washed board by board with the hose and let dry our lovely blonde deck. To our horror and extreme disappointment, the Thompson's Water Seal Advanced Clear/Transparent has rendered our deck a horrible orange colour! Not at all what we expected and desire. Not only that- our deck is now extremely slippery! Furniture and shoes are sliding around on it . It is not safe. We are devastated. How do we ever get our beautiful light coloured, non slippery deck back?
