It was on sale and I used it before better price then Amazon

I have used Thompson Stain for a few years and like the way it stains my decks.

Wears off a little to fast

Benefits of the transparent Sedona Red Waterseal include allowing the wood grain to show through, the color is attractive on my porch next to the bricks of the house, and it is relatively easy to apply. Areas of my porch that are not exposed to the sun and rain continue to look very good year over year. Those areas do not need water repellancy but need to match the color and general appearance of the weather exposed areas. It is disappointing that in the exterior application on my porch where the Waterseal is used on the sun and rain exposed window sills, the stain breaks down and must be sanded completely off once per year to allow a fresh application of the stain to be absorbed into the wood. Then two coats must be reapplied in rapid succession. I prefer using stain rather than paint due to the usual need for scraping off thicker coats of paint when refinishing is needed. Allowing the wood grain to show through is also one of my goals. I wish that the Waterseal would retain its appearance and water repellancy for longer than only one year when exposed to the sun.

Unfortunately this was the wrong type. This is transparent and I needed solid color. Walmart doesn't carry that so I had to return it and find it elsewhere. Don't know why they wouldn't carry both types.

Bought this product to use on treated surfaces around our home. Opened container and content was a pink solution with thick gunk blobs. Thinking it would turn clear/transparent on wood surface I sprayed on a small area of deck. The pick absorbed into the wood grain discoloured the test area. I had dispose of remaining contents. Absolutely will never purchase or use again.

Bought 25 gallons to do a large fence around my yard. It started peeling off after 1 year, and more so into the second year. I wouldn't apply this again if it was given to me for free. On the can it states "Satisfaction Guaranteed". There is no satisfaction guarantee.
