I have worked with older systems that were much heavier and clunkier. This system with its 8 cameras and DVR do not take up a lot of space and is fairly light. Overall daytime video and picture quality are great, which is good at this price point. You would have to pay 2x or 3x the cost to get excellent video quality. Night quality is fairly good as well due to the 7 LEDS integrated into every camera. The cables are also of a decent length allowing flexible camera placement. Functionality and support of the app are good as you get proper remote access and push notifications that keep you up to date.
've been looking to upgrade from my old four camera system, two an eight camera system for quite a while now. I saw this box and figured why not. It does work as is, it just does not allow you to use the recording feature. There is no internal memory, no HDD tip. This is really no problem, I already had a four camera system here, that has more than enough memory. It can record four cameras for 99 hours a piece, before having to Loop and reuse any space. Space is kind of limited, in a way, but not really. 45 days is a long time before looping. Especially, for a home surveillance system, not for a store. If something happens and I need to pull the video, I will know about it before 45 days are up. And if not, oh well. I could have bought a new hdd, but mine was very easy to remove. After opening the case on my old DVR, I saw that the HDD was in the same spot, and the same shape of the place in the new box where it goes. It pulls right out, kind of like a SD card. And, it slipped right into the space on the new box. Very easy to switch over, and now I have memory to record with. Overall, this is a nice dvr, meant for recording up to eight surveillance cameras at once. You just have to bring your own memory. Still not bad, especially if you are into DIY.
I like the fact that I can see what's going on at my house when I'm not there.
I have zero complaints about this set up and plenty of good stuff to say about it! Set up is easy, installation is easy if you are able bodied, picture quality is great and I would much rather save a lot of money with the memory storage it has compared to having to purchase a monthly subscription with the wireless systems out there. It comes with EIGHT CAMERAS! WOW!
Awesome quality and so far they are great.
There's no sound at all. The night vision is only good within 15 ft. Anything further is dark. Customer service is only available via email. Theyre responsive but it's a pain trying to get answers %26 having to wait a day or 3 of emailing back %26 forth to get resolution. I like them much better than blink. On the phone app, you can only play back to midnight of the current day. If you want to search further, you have to use the system. The car recognition is off. It keeps telling me the side of my house is a car. I do like the ease of zoom on my phone.
Zoom in feature is blurry my old harbor freight one worked much easier and remained super clear. It's better than no surveillance if you're trying to stay on a certain price point.
BUYER BEWARE!!! I did not receive what was purchased, it is not a Toguard system at all. The system that was ordered also was to have three terabyte hard drive what, I received had no hard drive at all and was a much cheaper camera system everything was wrong.
Did not measure up to capabilities claimed buy seller, day view is fair, nightvision is a joke at best.Packaging reflects effects of being damp and stored in a hot and humid area.
I imagine this would probably be a really good system to have but unfortunately I ordered it from Walmart never received it and so far Walmart has yet to do anything to fix the issue. I was told to wait 2 days and if I didn't receive it by then call back which I did and then they put my refund on investigation. it appears to me that they think I'm lying which is kind of offensive considering I just spent $220 roughly. but hey what can you do I'm at their Mercy now
