I think it is pretty nice phone
Got mine for just $25 brand new off eBay. There has never been a better value in any phone in the history of cellphone-kind! Works great and has tons of features and extras for a budget phone. Anyone who has a problem with this model of phone and rates it low just doesn't know how to use a smartphone. Don't blame it on the phone when the problem is YOU!!!
Everything that I was looking for in a phone. It's very responsive which I didn't expect it to be after looking at other reviews. plays Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and YouTube perfectly. It even dose a good job on games. It plays The Simpsons: Tapped Out well and I've had more expensive devices struggle with that.
This phone boasts it's 5.3 inch screen. It's not a HD display but has a 18:9 aspect ratio. That is rare for a budget phone. It's a very odd ratio so many apps such as games, leave strange dead touch areas on the extended edge where it stretches the screen to fit but just a small area that you can easily adjust to. It also comes with Android Oreo 8.1. It's a great Android version. Alcatel that owns TCL has decided to remove the feature to move app data to a SD card. This very much limits the storage as it only has 16g internal storage. It has a decent quad core processor with 2g ram. It's smooth and fluid with it's hardware. It has one bottom firing speaker that is loud and sounds decent. The call quality is great. The battery life is fantastic. I've had a few problems with apps force closing on occasion. YouTube, Facebook and a couple of other apps just vanish. All in all I really enjoy using the phone. It's definitely worth the price. It's rare to get that screen ratio for cheap and even better with 2g of ram and Oreo on top!
It's not a bad little phone. Not quite what I was wanting, but overall it does its job well. I truly don't have any complaints about how well it functions. I just wanted something a little different. Good phone though.
The speaker is not very clear so the person on the other end can not hear most of what is being said.
I got this phone about 5 months ago, but today the screen wouldn't pop up for like 2 hours. Then later after i had shut it off and let it sit for a while it came back, but nothing worked. None of the apps would load at all even given about an hour.
It's probably not the phone but the total wireless upgrades. First, you do not have the option to upgrade or not, they will force you to accept the upgrades. Then the upgrade comes with a lot of bloated ware that invades your privacy and spends more phone resources tracking you than for what you want a phone for. You supposedly have the option to opt out of some of this bloatware, but when you do your phone ceases to work properly.
Do not buy this phone. The wall adapter, the software, and the phone itself are cheap and all busted, and it hasn't even been one year yet. I had to go back to my phone from 2017, and it works fine.
total wireless did not connect me to a phone number or active cell line..the online help took notes to get my cellphone active. the notes expired after two days. they said i should have bought the wireless online directly thru them
