Tracfone Alcatel TCL A3, 32GB, Black - Prepaid Smartphone

This seems to be a easy to use, simple cell phone. The only reason I went with these is because of the ease of texting. A buyer has to do their own research on the internet and decide which direction to take. The days of walking into Walmart and many other stores and expecting to find an employee who can answer questions, are long gone. This is why I have gone to the internet for research and purchases. And I'm and older person at 71 years of age.

So far, I like this phone. It does what I need without a lot of extra fuss. Facebook can be disabled - I was unable to do this on the Motorola (Android 10) that I purchased and quickly returned. I do not use the phone a lot, mostly some health/fitness apps, food journal and Strava. I also send and receive text messages without trouble. I'm glad I made this purchase.

Good quality phone with plenty of battery strength and memory space. Camera is a little difficult to focus but other than that it's a good phone. All of the features of a quality phone at a very reasonable price. Customer service at wireless company was extremely pleasant and easy to set up.

This Alcatel TCL A3 phone is good but i prefer Samsung. One good thing about this phone is the volume is crystal clear and really good and the screen is a little bigger then my other Samsung J3 Orbit. I won't be keeping it though just temporarily cause i will be getting a Samsung A10E

I'm a low-usage kind of phone person. I just needed a phone for getting texts or making an emergency call, maybe a picture now and then. I don't need some really expensive phone when I only turn it on a couple of times a month. This was a good choice for me. Relatively easy to get it activated, picked a very low-cost prepaid plan to go with it. The size fits my hand nicely, and found an attractive cover that fits. Can't complain, it's basic but does everything I need.

We got this for my 6yr old grandson to play with on wifi witbout cutting the service on. He loves it. He had a nice little Moto G Play, but the screen cracked, so we bought this cheaper one, and this phone is, honestly, better for our purposes. The screen is plastic or something, so it hasn't cracked at all, and he's had it for a couple months, using it nearly every day. I wanted to buy two more for my other grandsons, ages 3

It comes bundled with tracfone branded spyware, which you cannot install but used to be able to disable, but they removed the ability to disable it during a system update. My charging port then broke about 4 months after use. It has a nice sized screen, bad audio quality even with headphones, a low res, and no fast charging. The included usb cable is flimsy and will break unless you treat it very carefully, avoiding stress on the cable by grasping from the connector plugs when you unplug rather than the cable itself. I am going to get a used pixel 4a 5G, which, yes, costs 5-6 times as much even if you buy used like I am, but google is known for quality control and respecting privacy at least more than the cell phone providers who would like to track everything on the phone it seems like (but use a third party OS like Graphene OS or Lineage OS if you want privacy from google). I'm guessing not all of them have the charging port break in 4 months, so I am giving this 3 stars, but obviously would be 1 star if they all broke that fast. I'm not sure if it has a warranty still that I could collect, but I am happy for an excuse to get a better phone now that money is not quite as tight. Just be careful with this thing, as it's easy to break, and use a decent case if you want it to last. Other people are complaining in the reviews about this being complicated. Yeah it's a full smartphone, basically a tiny computer, running the latest version of Android. Consider enabling "simple mode" (you can google search this) if you want something closer to a flip phone experience. Otherwise you are carrying around a full featured, albeit weak, computer in your pocket.

Not a fan. I live in a rural area and the signal was almost non existant according to the phone; took the phone back. On my Verizon Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy for 4 days with TP trying to get the Track Phone to work, but couldn't. Both were Verizon towers.

I bought this phone to upgrade my phone and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's a piece of crap! The phone gets really hot after normal use, the phone dials by itself in a phone call with an automated system. I could go on and on about the problems I'm having with this phone but you get the point. I had to switch back to my previous phone because I bought this phone and it came broken. Now I'm out the money I spent on it which upsets me. You don't have to take my word for it but you will be wasting money if you buy this phone.

It is unreliable and if I take a step too hard, it shuts off. It takes multiple hours to get charged and doesn't hold a charge for more than 6 hours. Definitely not worth the cost.
