Universal Studios - The Northman [ULTRA HD]

Robert Eggers is becoming one of my favorite directors, I find it surprising that it would be one from this era of filmmaking. There aren't too many directors these days that are talented or have vision like his. At least in my opinion, which isn't much haha. Give his movies a chance, you may like them.

sick movie. straight up what it means to be a man in the form of a film. if you like naked sword fights in erupting volcanos, this pic is for you!

This is a very violent movie so it is certainly not for everyone, but for those the genre reaches out to, it is a fantastic movie.

Wow, found a sleeper here. Better than expected.

A Shakespearean slow-burn revenge epic, I get why this movie isn't for everyone. But I will say it is for me, and I wish more movies would try to be as accessible but unique as the Northman. Check it out if you like hallucinatory viking brutality, or if 'Midsommar meets Gladiator' sounds interesting.

The Northman finds filmmaker Robert Eggers expanding his scope without sacrificing any of his signature style. The blu-ray came in good conditions, however, the slipcover had minimal scratches, folds and signs of use. For future deliveries, please try to cover the blu-rays or DVD's with extra protection (bubble wrap/padded paper) to avoid any damage or inconvenience before shipping.

The 4k quality and sound are topnotch, which really highlights the beauty of the film's cinematography. I was less pleased with the gratuitous violence (including against children, women, the elderly), which although tragically is true to life, prevented me from enjoying this film more fully. I watch lots of violent and dark movies, so I'm not particularly sensitive to this element. Still, it's good to know what you're getting into. Anya Taylor-Joy is a top-notch actress, so her inclusion in the cast helped a great deal!
