A great story full of information on the past. A great lesson in history that everyone needs to know. Hard to see it and hear it, but beneficial in order to understand the past, and helpful so that history doesn't repeat itself. Some people think this time was the greatest part of American history, but who was it great for? Certainly not those who lived it. Recommended for lovers of history and for those who really want to understand how enslaved people endured hard times, but persevered.

Bravo.\n Bravo It's a lesson to be told and heard and seen in American history with the African American people have gone through and been through, it's heart warmer and very touching. Have a child.

As a history buff, I thought I knew all about the trials of blacks during slavery times. Learning the history of jumping the broom that is used today was originated in Europe by whites as another form of a fake union like a man marring his mistress. Lincoln only freed the slaves to save the union. This series must be apart of every history class in the world.
