If you use sharpie markers in tour artwork and need to correct mistakes, this is what you layer on to cover them. For vibrant cover-ups, layer on white gesso on top. It takes severals to cover sharpie marker bleed-through. Photo included is the 1st layer post black gesso.

I like to use your black gesso for the background of my paintings. It applies very smooth and looks good. I also like the price.

First time using the item. It was referred to me by an artistic friend. It was used on a Halloween decoration as a base/primer coat. Liquid spread easily and did not clump making only coat needed.

Ok, this company make a very nice gesso. Good quality, and as long as when your finished with it you screw the cap back on it lasts forever. I bought my first bottle of this gesso about 7 years ago, and after I finished the painting I didn't need to use it anymore until about 3 years later. Was so surprised to find it still soft enough to move with in the jar with a pallet knife, so I began putting a little water in and mixed it up and then a little more then put the top back on for a few days, Was I surprised, it was almost just like new again and after a few stirrings with the knife it was back to it perfect form. It is still soft, so today I bought a bottle of Black and one of White from the same company. It is peace of mind when you find something that really works...
