I ordered one with the gel liner. The Velcro straps are long enough to provide ample room for a wider calf and stayed secure. It keeps the ankle area from bending sideways well and still allows me to wear low shoes. It's much better support for the ankle than a wrap provides.
Haven't used it yet. But looks like makers understand how to make ankle supports. Lot better than others on market. Spend a little More on this rather than waste money on other so called ankle supports.
