This makes the best sausage queso. I make it with hot rotel tomatoes and hot sausage to give it a kick. After cooking and draining the sausage, I combine it with the Velveeta Queso in chunks along with the spicy tomatoes in my crockpot. It may be pretty thick when it melts so I add a little milk or some half-and-half. Stir and serve with tortilla chips. It will be gone before you know it!
However this cheese is so processed that it won't mold. I like to keep a box or two for emergencies. And I should add, even though it is processed, it tastes really good. It melts well. It really can make a flavorless dish come alive. Great grilled cheese sandwich, wonderful queso with jalapeno slices added or thickening something that calls for cheese. Add water and you have a great dip.
For years I have been using Velveeta cheese for various recipes, and then I found THIS Velveeta cheese, and I am in love with it. It cuts cleaner, blends better, and is so creamy and flavorful. I also love that it isn't orange, which always bothered me a little because of additives. I made macaroni and cheese the other night with the Velveeta Blanco Queso, and it was better than any I've ever made. Each time I make it, it is consistently delicious. I will be buying this Queso cheese from now on.
I cannot wait to make queso dip with this cheese. It's very good tasting and I would recommend it to everyone if I could. It's definitely tasty and a good price range also.
This cheese works really well for making a Mexican cheese dip ! Just melt with some water to then and add some chiles or jalapeños and you have a delicious dip .
I think it's better than the original , it's a smoother taste ,idk but it doesn't taste as salty as the original one ,I can't wait to use it making chicken tetrazzini
lots of jokes swirl around about Velveeta cheese--' it lasts forever'-- ' it glows in the dark!'...but i love it. the melt factor makes it a ''go-to'' add in or add on cheesy taste. i have a cheese fetish of sorts and will pay too much for a flavor i want and like--- but i always have my favorite [low-fat preferred] regular yellow and white [Queso Blanco] in ready supply. good for cooking or that late night cracker and soft chesse snack-- Velveeta leaves you more kissable at bedtime than Limburger. Velveeta store price has been increasing rapidly [from $4.98 to $6.98 for 36 ounce loafs] recently] so this current $5.98 for Queso is a price break of sorts. i received a loaf with an expiration date of just 3 months away-- but it will be gone in 2 weeks. note to order more!!
Really great deal on the best tasting cheese ever. My only concern was the packing. There should have been some bubble wrap or perhaps some airbags as the 3 boxes I ordered were a bit banged up and haphazardly packed into the box. Other than that, I was very satisfied with my purchase and will be buying these again very soon.
This was very bland, but if you were to add some fire roasted jalapenos and yes fire roasted jalapenos are the best.. some spices maybe a little garlic you would have something really good.
Walmart shopper thought it was OK to pick this DAMAGED package of cheese for my pick up order. Ridiculous. The inner wrapping was cut, too. Had to have been like this on the shelf for s while as the cheese near the cut had dried out. Sometime picking up an order curbside is convenient. But not if you have to return damaged goods. A small amount of thinking (from the shopper or the person who rang it up and put it in a bag) would have alleviated this issue. C'mon, Walmart. Webb Chapel, Dallas. Do better.
