Verbatim CD-RW 700MB 4X-12X High Speed with - 25pk Spindle (95155)

Ever since I first got a pack of rewritable DVDs as a gift, I have been a "fan" of Verbatim. Their disks are some of the most reliable disks I've used, even with multiple rewrites. I use them, these included, for data backup, music, video, or OS installers so that I can keep up-to-date with the latest version. Although anecdotal and not directly related to this particular product, I lost one of my DVD RWs and found it a few years later somewhere in the kitchen, completely exposed, coated in a thick layer of cooking grease and dust on both sides. After cleaning it off, it still read and wrote data perfectly fine. So as long as you don't let it doesn't suffer notable physical damage or get very unlucky with a defective disk (which I have never encountered so far), the will last quite a while, apparently even in non-ideal conditions. However, I still recommend keeping them in some a case of some kind and properly handling them, to maximize that reliability, especially if you'll be storing sensitive or otherwise important data. As a final note, related to another review, I also recommend inspecting the spindle pack after it arrives if you ordered it online, since it may have been damaged in shipping. Although this pack is much smaller than the 100x packs and thus more resistant to accidental damage (simply due to size and weight), it's better to find out immediately if you need to replace them than to find out later when it's too late.

Consistent good quality recordings and re-recordings.

Must have used half the discs to find just one that would record and play without an error. Many of the discs would not play on my CD player, even though other CDRW brands played without a problem. Many of the discs recorded all the way only to give me the error message Windows Media Player Legacy encountered an error. Gave up and purchased TDK discs.

Shipping container was delivered EMPTY!! Complaint to Walmart brought NO results!! A great way to treat customers.
