This item saved an expensive recliner! Our newest cat loves this combo-scratching post. She loves to attack the ball on the post and uses the post itself to mark her scent every day. Since I used catnip spray to introduce her to this item, she loves rolling around on the carpeted base. It's inexpensive and I expect it to last "forever". Assembly was very easy.

Just plain love this scratching post! BUT our kitty wld never use it w those ropes on it, what we do is buy these little rugs also from Walmart. We cover it w a glue gun, and have to recover one a year, our kitty goes bonkers on it it and can not live w out it, you can flip it around , she goes through the top part of rug like in 3 months!!!!

I have to admit I wasn't expecting much for the price, but I purchased two. They are sturdy and are not shredding as much as I thought they would. The little kitties use them and that's the main thing! I could have 20 and it wouldn't be too many for the cute little rascals!!

Need two people to assembly it. If you have short arms. Also maybe but some more rope in it. Our kitten in 2 days got it off. on his. The other male cat still has his first one. So we order some more of these just so we have they have them on hand. They have so so much on it. We gave my brother one when he expected a cat this winter walk into his house and did not have anything for it. The cat just loves it too.

We have been using these scratchers for years and the cats love them. The problem is the replacement seagrass poles are not available anywhere. Sisal or anything else you can get just not seagrass so I end up buying the whole assembly over and over. Anybody need a dozen wooden bases and the assembly fasteners? I will give you a great deal on them.

The power of cats is relative, and we had two young boys using this. My main negative is that the rope has come apart after only months of use. I don't find the boys particularly rambunctious, and it has come apart. They have their own space and had to spend a lot in it, so maybe that is a caveat in this case. For one cat, I think it may be ok.

It looks good. Quality is good but my cats won't touch it. They loved the previous single post one and have torn it to shreds. I'll have to get another one like it . Don't feel I can return this one because it's not Walmart's fault but my cats preference. I'll give it away. This one would be good for a kitten who's never known anything else, maybe.

The ball on the spring on the front plate came off within two minutes of my cat standing on it. He never once scratched the pole and he's only three and it's very cumbersome and large on the base although dimensions are included I thought he would've enjoyed this more so I've since given it away along with several other things I've tried for him as for the rope not once did he scratch it so I can't comment on it assembling it was quite easy and the color of course matched my interior being like gray. I just don't find it worth it for something that you aren't certain your cat will use. He's a large Bengal Siamese approximately 15 pounds.

This would be a great item except for the fact that after 2 days, the little ball on the spring came off. That cat got it off somehow. It shouldn't be so easy to get off and now every time I try to put it back on the cat takes it back off again and the exposed spring is dangerous So, this was very disappointing. I had to unscrew the spring so that my cat would not be injured.
