Easy to use sprayer!

PMommaW November 3, 2015

I received this Wagner Home Decor Sprayer and really like it. I do a lot of painting and refinishing so I was excited to try this out. It arrived with no assembly needed and I couldn't wait to get started painting. I have used several different kinds of sprayers over the years and this one is definitely one of the easiest. No need to use an air compressor or anything, all you need to do your project is included with this Wagner Home Sprayer. This sprayer is great for little projects such as crafts or larger scale projects such as cabinets, chairs, tables or furniture. One of the great features is that it is super super light weight! Another great feature I like is that all different kinds of paint products can be used. We finish and refinish a lot of furniture so those two things are very important to me. This sprayer is really simple to understand and use, you just simply fill the canister with your paint (some paints will definitely need to be thinned down), turn it on and start spraying. There are also different spray settings for a larger span spray or a more narrow spray for smaller things like spindles, chair legs, etc. This Wagner Home Decor Sprayer also has a nice length hose so that it can easily reach to do whatever project you are working on. Overall, I am really liking this sprayer and would recommend this to friends and family. This is a good product to have in any household that does painting projects.

Not for big projects.

MeliFeb November 9, 2015

I have never used a paint sprayer before, I thought I could paint my bedroom with this and make the job easier and cleaner. After spraying one wall I realized it just wasn't going to work. It didn't cover well. I ended up using a roller to paint over what I had painted with the spray. I'm giving it 5 stars because It is a great product, but its intended for simple small objects.

Great for home projects!!!

ladyofclass10 January 5, 2016

Iove doing home projects like repainting old things and making them new. But like many people I just used the paint brush or can of spray paint. Both can get the job done but they are also tiresome. I always wanted to try a sprayer because it would make repainting very easy? I seen the cometciL ones but them seem messy. I was glad to see that this one was nice in size and light weight , which makes it very easy to handle when you are doing your projects. Now I can do them in less time too. It was very easy and simple to use. If you are looking for something small , easy to handle than this is a great product for you, Very easy to grip and Handel would definitely reccomenfhthis product to anyone. I am definaty looking forward to doing more home projects.

EASY TO USE

whitt November 15, 2015

THE WAGNER HOME DECOR SPRAYER IS VERY EASY TO USE FOR A VERY WIDE RANGE OF SMALL JOBS. AFTER I GOT MINE FROM THE WALMART SPARK REVIEWER PROGRAM I THOUGHT OF SO MANY THINGS I CAN USE IF FOR ALL KINDS OF SMALL PROJECTS AROUND MY HOUSE. IT WORKS JUST AS IT SAYS IT DOES AFTER YOU USE IT A TIME OR TWO IT COMES MORE EASY, YOU DO NEED TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND YOU WILL HAVE A NICE FINISHED PAINT JOB. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU THIN YOUR PAINT AS PER CHART THAT IT SHOWS YOU FOR WHAT PAINT YOU USE AND WHAT JOB YOU ARE DOING. THE SPRAYER IS VERY LIGHTWEIGHT TO HANDLE BUT SEEMS WELL BUILT IT HAS A TURBINE BLOWER AND WITH THE DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS YOU THE CONTROL FLOW WHICH IS GREAT, IT SPRAYS AND COVERS GOOD. WITH THE SPRAY GUN NOZZEL YOU HAVE CONTROL OF WHAT DIRECTION OR SPRAY PATTERN YOU WANT FOR DIFFERENT JOBS. I HAD NO PROBLEM USING AND CLEANUP IS SUPER EASY AND THE SPRAYER DIDN'T LEAK OR DRIP I DIDN'T HAVE ANY RUNS OR SPLOTCHY SPOTS, BUT AS I SAY FOLLOW DIRECTION AND ITS EASY. ANOTHER PLUS I THOUGHT WAS NICE WAS YOU CAN CALL FOR TECH HELP AND YOU CAN ALSO GET ADDITIONAL PARTS FOR THE SPRAYER. NICE LITTLE MACHINE.

Great for the woman who loves to refinish!

CyberGypsy October 31, 2015

First let me say, I do a lot of refinishing furniture and I have used many sprayers to paint them, when I initially saw that this small compressor that comes with the Wagner I was a little concerned it wouldn't give me the freedom of moving around and painting however after using it I have to put that concern to rest. The item was a little smaller than I am I Imagined guess I thought it was gonna be much bigger, This will be easy to store when not using,it was very easy to fill with paint the only thing you need to make sure that your paint is thin enough using the tool that is included to make sure. The latex paint went on very smooth I did a couple projects and I used very thin coats the nozzles great because you can spray it three patterns vertical ,Horizontal and Spot. The key is to keep moving for a even coverage without brush marks like a brush, take a look at the 2 projects I did this weekend.next weekend I will try a chalk paint Let me say cleanup was extremely easy if you clean it up right after use it cleans up very easy and leaves new no residue, I think that's the key

1st timer

Carrie November 9, 2015

So I have a whole house filled with out of date furniture and needing refinished with new paint. I have been talking about doing it but never have enough time to do so. So along comes the paint sprayer. Like I said I have done a lot of talking about redoing my furniture now my chore just got easier. Anyways this arrived and the paint holding container is very small. Smaller than I expected however it still worked like a charm. There is a bit of a learning curve with needing to do long sweeps with no stopping once you get the hang of it, it works well and fast. You do need to thin the paint down with the tool provided and with the liquid they recommend. Different paints require different components. You can adjust your paint nozzle to the desired spray and you do that with a turn of the nozzle. I suggest a test spray with each change so you are adjusted between the different settings. I was scared that the hose wasn't going to be long enough to maneuver around the furniture but the cord was nice and long and I had no issues. I was scared too that I was going to have a lot of overspray and honestly I dont think I had hardly any at all. Clean up was a breeze, I read directions before starting my project and went and bought mineral spirits before starting my project. They also provide this tiny brush to get into the small spots. Overall I am very satisfied with this paint sprayer, I have now started a huge project and pretty much I am halfway done in one weekend. If I would have been painting with a brush this would have been a month long project. Great sprayer and well worth the money. I received this sprayer from the spark reviewer program.

Wagner Home Decor Paint Sprayer

petefo November 4, 2015

This paint sprayer performed much better than I expected. It's very light weight plastic and the paint gun holds 20 oz of paint. The plastic parts help to make cleanup easy. A small cleaning brush, supplied, helps to remove paint from the smaller nozzle parts. There is also a plastic paint stick that doubles as a gauge to measure the paint reducer. The electric three prong cord is a generous 6' as is the air hose. Assembly is easy and intuitive. My first use of this paint gun was to paint a couple of neglected concrete block cellar walls. I sprayed a gallon of paint before I knew it. The Wagner sprayer made quick work of that job. There was very little over spray. The volume control is a large easy to turn knob on the rear of the gun. The trigger is easy to work and large enough to use two gloved fingers on it. There is a small filter at the rear of the unit that needs regular rinsing out to maintain good air volume. A nice paint spray gun.

Super Messy!

iheartmykidds November 10, 2015

This is the first time I've used a sprayer. It wasn't what I expected. When it's turned on, it blows air out pretty hard, even when not "spraying" paint. It was so bad that my bed of newspaper flew away immediately. I don't recommend using newspaper. Luckily I had an old sheet underneath. It comes with a practice paper, it should really come with 5 of them. Even with practice-- still a mess. I had a lot of over-spray. I did this indoors and would definitely suggest using this outside, far away from anything you don't want paint on. I had over-spray all over my entire living room. The spray itself was rather splatter-like. I was really skeptical about the texture. It did dry smooth. Trying to spray something oddly shaped didn't help me. I'll likely touch up the paint with a brush to avoid the mess. Clean up is rather tedious. I will only use this for bigger items in the future. There are many small , hard to clean parts. This does come with a cleaner brush. In the box: Spray handle with cup, the cup doesn't have a separate lid for storage but it does come with a card to request a free container for storing the paint, Hose, Machine, pipe-cleaner type brush, Paint-to-water ratio tool, Manual, quick start guide and a practice poster. My experience wasn't horrible , I think this is one of those things you need lots of practice with to get good at. I'm sure this would be great for anyone already familiar with this specific type of item. I will use in the future but only for larger items and outside. If you notice that the paint isn't going on smooth and looks rather textured-- Don't worry, it dries smooth. I also applied a lot of paint & had no drips. Overall, I'd say it's a good product but takes practice & patience.

Nice home-use spray gun!

MrFitz November 16, 2015

First off, why use a spray gun at all? Well, vs. a paint brush or roller - it's a lot faster and a far more even coat. Better yet, it's quite a bit faster on awkward items like wire mesh, round chair legs and a host of other difficult to paint items. OK, why not a can of spray paint? Although there are similarities, the spray gun allows for a more precise spray pattern and volume than the can - which tends to be a single, circular pattern and non-adjustable volume distribution. Additionally, you can't always find the "perfect color" in a can, but you can always have some mixed for you. Are there any limitations to a spray gun? Yes, specifically this spray gun. The fact that it uses a container for the paint suggests a limited amount of "raw material". In other words, with this small amount of paint, you're definitely not going to paint the house - or for that matter anything requiring a lot of paint. Commercial spray guns use a tube that can be inserted into a 5 gallon bucket of paint which stays on the ground or floor as you walk around with the sprayer assembly. With this product, you carry the gun and paint all in one package. That said, there are a limited number of jobs for which this sprayer is useful - but FOR those jobs it is an excellent tool! Assembly couldn't be easier - slide one end of the hose into the compressor, the other into the gun and plug it into an outlet or extension cord - done! Perhaps the most common paint used around the house is a water-based latex. This will require thinning in order to permit a decent flow through the nozzle. The thinning gauge is really helpful in determining the amount of thinning required and eliminates the need for secondary measuring container. It's also calibrated such that you can easily determine the amount of thinner (water, in the case of latex) regardless of the amount of paint you intend to use. Typically, the second most used is a stain of one kind or another - thinning is not required. The adjustable spray volume ensures decent coverage without over or under paint usage and the spray pattern adjustment helps limit the paint to the desired areas without coating everything in sight. (It can adjust for a vertical, horizontal, or conical spray pattern.) Speed of application can be regulated with the pressure knob - but I'd highly recommend you do a few test sprays first. I'd recommend a cardboard box - try both the outside and inside - just to get a feel for how (and how much) paint will be applied. Like canned spray paint, I'd also recommend more than one coat to ensure accurate color throughout. Cleanup is relatively easy, but I'd recommend you do it as soon as you've finished painting. Getting dried paint out of the nozzle (or thickened paint from the feed tube) is considerably harder when it's allowed to sit overnight. So clean up right away - THEN pat yourself on the back for doing an outstanding job. Bottom line, it's an excellent tool for smaller jobs (limited mostly by the amount of paint it can hold) and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone with those kinds of projects.

Pretty Cool!

ShopGirl1724 November 12, 2015

I've been wanting one of these for a long time. As a home DIYer, I wanted something that would work better than painting with a brush. I now feel more confident that I can take on bigger projects and they'll look professional. It's easy to change the direction of the spray. I like that the paint holder is opaque and with measurement indicators so it's easy to see how full it is. The instruction booklet also has a lot of information about different paints and how to get the full use. Only negatives are that the sprayer is a clunky and all plastic parts and the motor is really loud.
