I was concerned as an older woman I might not be able to use this tool effectively. It is fairly light weight and once you get rhythm going works well. I can only use it for about 10 minutes but then I rest and try again later. I had more luck with dead dry stalks than nimble green weeds. Could never “mow” my grass with this but good for those places you can't get a mower into.
It was easy to put together, especially with included little wrench. It's sharp and easy to use. Already earned its keep! I do wish I could order a spare blade, though. My husband likes the metal handle. Cuts grass/weeds great. Has a good sturdy feel to it.
Good tool . Knocks down higher weeds well. Comfortable and the swing becomes easier as you get the hang of it. Easy to put together. I did it in a few minutes and I can't do mechanical stuff.
This product has been a significant help to me in keeping the garden under control. The design itself is perfect for women, this tool is lightweight, and the blade is sharp. This is not a Scythe, but for the price, I wanted to try it, and I am glad I did. The product is easy to use, lightweight, and very effective in chopping down tall grass and keeping Kudzu at a desired perimeter. I ended up buying two,
I bought this to replace an old one I had at my last house that worked super well. The handle on this one makes it easier to use but the blades are shorter so it doesn't quite have the grip of my old one. Bummer. But it does a decent job so I would say it's worth the very affordable cost.
Easy to assamble once noticed the square notch holes. Put it together wrong first time. After assembling correctly immediately began using whip. Handle comes loose too easily but is easy to slide back on. Much faster and easier to use than a line weed trimer.
I spent many hours trying to decide what manual tool I could use to hack down some tall grass and weeds that became overgrown due to neglect. I didn't want an open blade. I watched some videos that promoted this type of product and provided instruction as how to use it properly in order to get desired results. It seems that it might take some time to master the technique. I think it is worth the investment of time to avoid chemicals. It seems to be sturdy and, so far, I have had some success. And, I expect that I will improve my skill over time. At least it helps with some physical exercise that isn't as boring as walking on a treadmill or cycling to nowhere.
It will not touch Short Grass. But it does wonders on tall grass. It was a pain in my side to put it together mainly right there from the handle to the bar because I almost busted up my hand due to the fact the boats screws whatever you want to call them didn't have a little hole in one side where I could hold it and adjust it on the other side
Definitely NOT easy to use as the advertising claims. You have to swing it as hard as playing baseball. Definitely NOT sharp as the advertising claims. You have to go over the same area numerous times and it barely cuts grass. It's a strenuous workout without satisfying results. Companies mislead consumers with false claims and get away with it bc they are never held accountable. Disappointing.
It's more of a toy, or tool-lite than a tool, too light and not sharp enough to be considered a yard tool. Rubber sleeve will not stay on. 1-10 worst to best scale a 1 at best. Do NOT recommend.
