Just what I needed to fix my 6yr old Acer laptop, that would not boot. Easy installation and excellent performance. The part arrived well packaged, and in a timely manner.

This is a plain Sata card that works. Plugged it in, turned the machine on and formatted the drive and it is available. Can't get better than that.

Excellent Drive, Good Price. I am using this as the drive I am using to play backupos on my Wii U. It also works really well with a Raspberry Pi. Very low power needs means it does not need a seperate power supply and does not draw too much away from the Pi.

Works awesome but failed hard on me in under a year. - First, I do leave my computer on for long durations, however, these devices rated to 1.75M hours MTTF (mean time to failure), so there's no reason for this drive not to perform past 3+ years easily. This isn't the M2 drive I push gaming on, just my OS. Also, monitoring heat, it was never excessively hot. RMA'ing this back to WD.

although tech support says they are in California everyone is Indian. I'm sure everyone has heard that before. the SSD drive I purchased for someone who use to build his own computers though admittedly was some time ago didn't come with a set screw for mounting. getting computer to recognize was time consuming and I ended up calling tech support was on the phone with them for 6 1/2 hours. end result I returned item in question as frustration level was overwhelming. tech support could not correctly set drive up even with a remote session that lasted almost an hour. end result their advise reformat my computer, buy a copy of operating system to load onto drive as cloning only messed up my computer and drive would not run system at all. or get a third party software to clone OS. leaving me with options I didn't care for item was returned awaiting refund. if you want a computer with a SSD drive buy one already setup to avoid the hassle. on rating experience 1 star is as low as you can go on form
