What an awesome smoker

JCRAW November 18, 2025

Been wanting to get into smoking for a while. Kept doing research on a great smoker to learn on but one that can also pump out some competition style bbq, let me tell you this is the one. Have only used it 3 times so far but absolutly in love with it. Done pork belly, ribs, and a beef shank. All turned out so good. Cannot recommend this smoker enough coming from a beginner like myself.

Fantastic!

Go Niners February 1, 2026

Excellent! Took two cooks to get the hang of it but makes a smoking rookie feel like a pro. In hindsight I should've bought the bigger one because of increased demand since the food turns out so good. Turkey, chicken and ribs have been elevated; going to do brisket once the Canadian winter subsides. Highly recommended for novice users who want to get into the smoking game.

What a great Fathers Day gift

RangerJohn July 13, 2025

This was a Father's Day gift and what a gift!!! It's been easy to set up, the videos on the website were very helpful in setting it up, preparing it, and my first efforts using it

The WSM is awesome!

Smokey the bear January 23, 2021

This is the first smoker I’ve ever bought. So far I have cooked 4 packers briskets, 3 racks of baby back ribs, and 1 whole Boston butt. All of them turned out phenomenal. By my third cook I added a weber connect and it makes smoking so much simpler. It’s very easy to maintain temperature for long cooks once you get the 3 vent system dialed in for your climate. I love this smoker and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Best Gift!!

SandyGrills December 26, 2020

I gave this as a gift. Set-up was fast and easy. We watched several YouTube videos and found T-Roy’s the best. Our first smoke was for some baby back ribs they came out amazing!! 10-15 min to light the starter coals then 10-15 to get the smoker up to temp adjust the vents done! Set-it and forget it. Well actually you’ll want to check/tend to your meat every 30 minutes to keep it moist. And just hang by the smoker cuz it’s cool!! Best gift!! We love-it!!

Awesome Smoker.

OldFart2023 February 27, 2023

Had a little issue with the door, but a little hand bending and made it fit. Works perfectly now. Used to make brisket, venison sausage and later on, ribs. Came out just perfect. Still learning, so it'll be better as I learn. Overall, very sturdy and commercial grade build.

Easy & versatile lil smoker - great for beginners

Anonymous August 25, 2020

I am a beginner to both charcoal and smoking, and the WSM has been fantastic. It’s easy to set up & easy to use. I’m still learning how to master controlling my temps, and the water pan helps me keep the temp in an ideal temperature range. I’ve also removed the water pan and used it as a grill, and that worked great as well. The only thing I’m trying to figure out is how to make cleaning up after smoking easier, but that just comes with the territory I guess. There are two levels so you can fit a decent amount of food. I’ve cooked a whole chicken and a dozen chicken thighs at the same time no problem. For ribs, I’m going to have to get racks so I can cut them up and stand them up vertically. If I had to do it over again, I would consider the 22”. However, I do love how compact 18” is - it sits on my patio and only takes up a little space. I have zero complaints and would highly recommend the WSM.

Almost Perfect

Dave In Batavia May 10, 2021

We love our Weber Smokey Mountain. We've done four cooks on it so far and everything has turned out great. The first cook was a small learning curve on how to adjust the grates to dial in the temperature, but the Mississippi Pot Roast we turned into Poboy sandwiches was excellent and fell apart with a couple forks. The second cook was a lot easier to get this smoker up to the right temperature and keep it there. The ribeye roast was perfectly cooked. The third cook was spicy pork ribs and again the temperature was easy to lock in and the meat fell off the bones. Last weekend we cooked chicken leg quarters, but it was a lot colder outside - about 50F and windy - and we had some struggles getting the smoker up to the right temperature. Not sure if we didn't have enough coals or what exactly the problem was, but there was also a lot more smoke leaking from around the lid and from the door. Which brings me to the only thing I would change on this smoker - the door. It's the only weak point on this thing, and there are after market replacements available, but I think Weber should change the design of this to make this smoker even better. Thanks for a great product and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably priced smoker.

easy to use with some flaws.

smokey_the_beard January 22, 2025

this is an excellent tool for smoking various meat cuts. I've cooked pork belly and pork loins on in. Only had it for about a month and winter is upon us. Not exactly "smoking" weather. I can honestly say food comes out tasting amazing. Just have to be patient and not open the lid. It was a Christmas present and i could not be happier with it. Experimenting more is my goal ... next Baby back ribs. And i will definitely make pork belly again.

Perfect size

clayG July 30, 2022

I bought this recently and am enjoying learning the basics of smoking. My most recent conquest was a 12 pound turkey and it was amazing! This smoker is easy to use and you can cook a lot at one time on the two racks. The door is a little flimsy and think it would be better if it was on a hinge.
