I have a smaller version of this slow cooker (30 years old) so I knew I would like the larger size. I can use it on my stovetop to brown meat and put it on the heating unit to slow cook. Easy to wash because it is lightweight. Added bonus is the carrying case.
Used a WestBend slow cooker 25 years ago until it wore out. Unable to find a new one until recently. These new slow cookers functions exactly as the original did. Purchased a 6-quart size and have already made three of our classic meals, which came out the same as it did years ago. I prefer a WestBend slow cooker over a crock pot as you can braise meat in pot over the stove and then place on slow cooker base to finish cooking. Redesigned base is a nice feature also.
I'm a full time RV'er. Like everything use things till they can't be used anymore. I used my last one for twenty years and I'm sure I will get the same out of this one. Great pot during this "stay at home" time. With the keep "warm" feature, I have a Hot meal all day long.
Best slow cooker. Had one before, lasted 10 years. Couldn't wait to get another one. So versatile. Love it!
I love this! It cooks well and I like I can take it off and place it on the stovetop for heating up! I needed a bigger pot and it's perfect for my family of 4
I got a Westbend Slowcooker as a wedding present 23 years ago. I love the way it cooks food! I have 2 other crockpots, as well, but I always fell back to using my Westbend. I used it so much it was showing wear over the last year or so, so I decided to update & ordered my new one. I absolutely LOVE IT! It's a little bigger than my previous one, so I made a huge roast in it the other night & it was the absolute best roast we have ever had! Thank you Westbend!!
Purchased as a Christmas gift for my daughter, it arrived quickly. She was tickled pink, and even cooked our Christmas dinner in it. We've always had Westbend Slow Cookers, since I received my first one as a wedding gift in 1974. We are never disappointed. This one seems sturdier than our past cookers, so hopefully it won't warp as it ages. Thank you!
Westbend has been my choice of slow cooker for years. It's easy to use, doesn't weigh a ton, easy for transport, cooks well and the shape is unbeatable for cooking, while you'll struggle with fitting the porks, hams etc in them round and oval slow cookers, they fit with ease in Westbend! Kudos...
Runs quite hot even on low. Watch your cooking times and temps! Clicks and ticks a lot. I've used this brand for years and this is my third styled like this one though the cook base has changed over the last 30 years. I truly dislike this one but wouldn't buy any other brand. Plus I don't like ceramic slow cookers and this one isn't.
Very disappointed with this item. I have owned 2 West Bend Slow Cookers for decades which have been great. The heating element went out on the 20 year old one so I wanted to replace it. Where to begin.....the lid does NOT seal/seat on the pan; the plate gets so hot you can't touch it when needing to move it; the temperature has an extremely fine line between the meal cooking and boiling to death, etc.
