This is a day one review. So far I love EVERYTHING about this unit. It was super easy to install and set up on WiFi. It cooled my room off super quick. Now we aren’t at super hot days yet but soon we will be and it will get the real test. I think this so far is well worth the money I spent on it.
Unit is compact and quiet and yet puts out very cold air. Colder than other units I bought and compared it with. Very pleased.
Quickly cooled over 500ft RV trailer. Temps reaching 115 %26 AC could not keep up. Several options for temp settings, timer, straight or rotating flow….have not tried heating options yet, (too hot in Texas). Husband easily installed with instructions and equipment to fit our particular needs. Good buy for the price!
Replacing one I already have love all the convince and easy set up
Kind of a pain to get the vent connected, and the window unit is not wide enough for my window, but otherwise it works as intended. Would be ideal if the cord was a bit longer. We have an old house with outlets only on two walls in each room, so it makes finding a spot for it tough. I'm hopeful it'll cool my upstairs, but we shall see. Just set it up about an hour ago.
It’s more difficult to put together than my other portable air conditioner and there are very poor instructions that leave you flipping from written instructions on one page to picture on 3 pages later. It’s complicated for unnecessary reasons. It’s cold and runs well but it’s also very loud. I spent 100 less for my other unit which I’ve had for 3 years now (unfortunately I couldn’t find another one) and it’s heaps better. Why everything is so much more expensive now and not as good.
The unit, as far as cooling is FINE. The drain plug is on the bottom, so you must elevate the unit in order to place a pan under it for draining. A royal pain. The duct exhaust hose is a pain to deal with as it is very stiff and difficult to adjust and move without disconnecting from the window exhaust kit. Most of the time it pops out when you do not want it to or it almost pulls the unit off it's elevated position. The window exhaust kit is a total nightmare and a total piece of crap. So poorly designed. CRAP!! I bought one of these portable units back in 2004 when they first came out., LG I think. EVERYTHING about it was FABULOUS. I used it at home and in my RV. This one is such a pain in the rear to move within the house, ( I had to do it last night as our central air unit developed a problem), I HATE it. But it does cool.
Delivered unit was badly retaped at bottom. Box looked like it had been sent out several times. Casing of unit was not fitted together flush. with gaps in the side seams. Two of the plastic parts were broken. Indentations in metal around the copper coil. I'm disappointed and mad that Westinghouse would offer a good price to try and dump a product like this on a customer.
This unit does not cool as it should and it also cuts off before reaching room temperature. We had it set to turn off at 76 degrees and it cut off at 83 degrees. We then had to unplug it and plug it back up to get it to start working again. Then it cut off again. I would not recommend this product.
I am so angry at the moment. I received a broken piece in my order, the window panel. I contacted the service number in hopes I could just get that part. Well after I carried this heavy item in with help, which I now do not have because instead of them sending a part I was advised to send the entire unit back. This is not a machine problem it’s a cracked window panel. This item is extremely heavy I am 61. Plus the box was held together with plastic ties which had to be cut. It’s a true nightmare. Don’t buy apparently they will not replace parts if they break later. This is not a typical size hose and attachment it’s smaller than standard and none of my old attachments from old air conditioners fit it . So I may have to send back somehow. But companies that cannot send parts are no good you pay almost $400 and it’s wasted if a main part breaks you can’t use an air conditioner if you have no window panel.
