Great value...two most popular grits on this whetstone make it easy to use and perfect for resharpening the blades of an expensive chef's knife set that just needed a little maintenance.

It comes in a minimal package. It has a small paper with notes on how to use it. It has 2 rubber pieces to store it, I'm gonna keep them. One side is 400 grit, the other side is 1000 grit. I used a whetstone like this as a kid. There were so many options to sharpen knives, I just wanted a stone like this and I'm glad I chose this.

This is a no-nonsense, affordable whetstone. I was looking to avoid spending exorbitantly on knife-sharpening tools, and this is a budget-friendly option including both 300- and 1000-grit sides to sharpen and polish my knives. Contrary to some other reviewers, I have not experienced cracking, wearing down of the material, nor troughing nor gouging of the center of the whetstone. That said, I have been conscious to use the entire length of the whetstone when sharpening my knives, and I've thoroughly soaked the stone prior to every use. That said, whetstones are, fundamentally, tools that wear down over time, so nor do I expect this to last forever. Until then, I'll relish in the fact that I was able to buy a whetstone for far cheaper than most suggestions online and get precisely comparable results when sharpening my knives.
