never used one before I did it the old fashioned way I took out y spark plug out held it close to the block then pull the handle see if there was a spark with this you just plug one and into the socket and the other one on the spark plug pull the handle and you can see it light up and for the cost can't beat the price highly recommend it

Spark Plug Tester
This tool makes it easy to check if the spark plugs are getting electricity from the coil or magneto,or tells you that you have a bad spark plug if you are getting spark from the coil but no engine start and can tell you if there is no spark that you have another electrical problem and need to trace back your ignition systems wiring to find the source of your electrical problem. IE; plug wires distributor cap,rotor,points,condenser,electronic ignition module etc...
