Wilton Adjustable Cake Leveler for 10-inch Cakes

I wanted a level cake to make a 2 tier cake. Since I'm not a straight cutter, I got this to help. It is so easy to use. Just slide it right over your cake and it shaves off the bump. Easy to clean too. It would work on cakes or cupcakes. I'm very happy with it.

Well, it didn't work for me, but maybe it'll work for somebody else because my cake was kind of crusty on top so it didn't really work but I used it as a guideline and I just put a serrated knife next to it and I use a knife so it's still work for me but in a different way

I decided to have my early 20s crisis and ended up getting into a sudden urge for baking cakes from scratch. So, I decided to give the best chance for myself that I could, and buy any utensil and item I would need to help me succeed in making a nice cake! I bought something like this before, but I don't think it was from Wilton years ago, and it was absolute doo-doo. This, however, although a little finicky for the first time around when it came to adjusting the height, it worked marvellously for the specific cake I made. Sliced right through it like butter! Extremely happy with how even it made each layer and was an absolute game-changer for me!

Chilled the cake, and used the cake leveler to easily level the cake. I am a moderate home baker and find this simple to use. First time using, I used it on 8 inch cake layers.

Has a little divot in the wire but I don't think that's gonna be a huge deal, it's pretty easy to move the wire up and down but I feel like I have to be sure careful not to break it. Feels pretty sturdy overall, will do exactly what I need it to do. In any case it's gonna look better than if I try and cut my cakes with a knife haha. I think this a good product for what you pay for.

not a huge fan honestly. it worked with some force which shouldn't be necessary with a cake.

I bought it to cut level across dinner rolls for hawaiian sliders. It doesn't cut into them even using a sawing motion. It also doesn't cut angelfood cake. The cake just wadded up along the wire. Not sure if it was my technique or if I was expecting too much.

I was so disappointed because it immidiately broke as soon as I got it out of the cardboard! I did not even get to use it! The price was low so maybe you get what you pay for... I recommend you invest a little more money on a better quality item for your cake leveling.
