I have purchased two other units comparable to this one and both cost a bit more. But this is by far the best. Very sturdy and strong. You need a hammer to put it together but if you use a rag between the hammer and the shelf or legs no problem. I will buy again when I need another shelf. Thank you
These are so nice, that after I bought one, I went back and bought the rest the store had! Great price, really sturdy, strong shelves. Holds anything and everything! One shelf was broken when I opened the box, took it back and got another. One box was missing half the poles, the manager gave me poles (probably from the one I returned broken). Great service from Wal-Mart manager! Highly recommend these, especially for the price (on sale for $28 on rollback).
I purchased the last two in my local area. The one I picked up from the Navarre store was excellent the other one I picked up at the Milton store was damaged beyond use. Now the product is unavailable, would purchase more if it becomes available but would need to inspect the box before leaving the store.
I just started couponing and needed something sturdy and not too costly. This item was great. I purchased 2 and it only costed me $60, which was amazing considering the fact that most shelves like this cost $60 just for one. The only thing I didn't like ishe that they came damaged. There were a few pieces broke bit I was still able to put it together.
Overall this is a solidly built shelf setup. I'm sure I'll be happy with it for years to come. The only problem with it was that it showed up with one shelf broken on the end. It was about a 3inch by 3inch piece that was broken. It doesnt affect the stability or strength of the shelf but perhaps better packaging would prevent this.
We are using to store large totes and boxes. We can generally fit two per shelf so good for our purposes. Beware that the shelf height is not adjustable (fixed by length of tubes). Seems sturdy enough. Had to return one due to a damaged shelf, likely from shipping....my guess is the plastic was brittle due to cold weather shipping.
Walmart: You need to check your packaging at the shippers!! Lots of broken bits. Only reason I did not return them was because I live far from the store and the vital parts were undamaged. Still, gezzzz, you can do better than this! I have pictures but don't see any way to post them. :-(
OK this has happen before with plastic units. I piece is broken again. the main reason for my rating is because it is hard to carry by transit. I had no desire to hall one of the shelf's back to Walmart. I don't know if it is a packaging defect or shipping. It is very heavy unit and should last a life time.
In the last several months I have purchased about 13 of these units and they really are great units - their only flaw is the method in which they are packaged. These units are designed to interlock with additional units, so one end has tabs and the other end slots. The problem is that often times the tabs are broken off during shipping or perhaps when the units are being stocked - typically this doesn't affect the structural integrity of them, at least not in a significant way. So far I have had to exchange at least one of them, ignore the defects on multiple others and I will be returning another unit I just received that had four shelves pulverized on the same corner. Advice - ask a Walmart employee to open and inspect the unit before purchasing. They are great units if they survive the shipping. On one occasion I exchanged a unit only to get home and find out the exchange was also damaged.
I bought 4 of these shelves online for store pick-up. When I got them home and opened the boxes, 2 of them had broken pieces on them, so I did not assemble them. I opened and assembled the 3rd one OK. When I tried to assemble the 4th one, it couldn't be done (two of us both tried) as either the pole holes were too small and/or the poles were too big for the holes, and none of them would fit it. So, I returned all 4 (2 broken, 1 defective and 1 I considered to be of sub-par quality). I would definitely not recommend these shelves to anyone.
