Better than Philips Hue

Anna November 26, 2019

I have been really happy with Wyze bulbs. Set up is really easy, as is linking to Google Home. I bought both Wyze and Philips Hue to compare them, and ended up returning the Philips Hue and ordering more Wyze as the Hue ones constantly disconnected from Google Home and came up as "offline". I have not have that issue a single time with Wyze bulbs. I do wish Wyze had a greater colour range like the Hue does, though, as Wyze bulbs only have a few different standard lightbulb colours to choose from (like "daylight" "cool white" etc), no actual colours...and I hope they come out with external flood light bulbs, too!

Best bang for your buck

thehyperguy November 13, 2019

What stands out to me with the wyze bulb is not the bulb itself. I'm not a connoisseur of bulbs so my expectations are fairly low. They either turn on or they don't. The fact that you can adjust the warmth of this bulb is an added bonus. However, the two best things about this produce actually have nothing to do with the bulb itself but instead relate to: 1) price - as with all wyze products, you would be hard-pressed to find better value elsewhere. 2) the app - some apps allow you to remotely turn the bulb on/off. Most bulbs have a scheduling feature. Wyze on the other hand has a full featured app that has built in rules and automation.

Few Months with the Bulbs

Jeff April 25, 2020

We have over 11 bulbs throughout the house and Google Assistants linked to Wyze. Its a hard habit to change from flipping the light switch to asking google to turn on or off which made easier with Google. I would also like to say after the first update to the bulb I was no longer getting random reset of the bulbs and haven't had any issues since.

More pleased than I expected!

TonyS September 23, 2020

I wanted to add a few bulbs around the house that were controlled by door contacts and motion sensors so I turned to WYZE who had all the components I needed. Since I already had a few cameras setup the setup and integration was very easy. I have lights that turn on early enough to ensure a nice bright house in the morning and other lights that turn on when someone enters may enclosed patio. The lights are easily controllable and, at their brightest setting, very bright. The lights were also easy to integrate with Alexia. I'm very pleased.

It isn't just about not having to get up to do it

Bruce C December 22, 2021

Being able to turn on/off the lights without putting down what we are carrying or drying our hands first is great, but the best part is being able to adjust the brightness and "warmth" to just the right level for the moment. I also love the whispered "OK Google, all the lights on" command for when something goes bump in the night. So far it has just been mischief from our cats, but I am imagining a trail of pee out the door if anyone enters who is not supposed to be here. (Idaho is a free carry state, and almost everyone keeps a loaded weapon or three where they are sleeping.)

Bulb v timer

AMB November 14, 2019

I bought this bulb for my vacation home just to see what all the hype is about. Installation was easy, but setting up the schedule was a little tricky. For the first few nights the light would turn on automatically, but It wouldn't turn off automatically - even though the schedule was set to turn it off. I also couldn't turn it off by clicking the off button on the app, which was a little weird. I reinstalled it twice before it finally worked as per the schedule I set. I just wanted to figure out if this light would be better than using a timer. I think it's fine, but a timer is just as easy for my very simple needs. I LOVE Wyze products and have several of each, but for me, the bulb isn't as useful as the Wyze cameras and sensors.

Process to connect can be a struggle

Anonymous September 23, 2020

Works great in two lamps that connected, but have not been able to get the other 2 bulbs to connect. I have tried 3 different lamps to no avail. I will definitely connect with Wyze support to assist me with this issue. Appreciate the ability to select from warm to cool tones as well as the brightness.

Cool but...

Wyze fan November 6, 2019

I like the idea of controlling a bulb through the Wyze app but seriously guys change the way light bulbs are paired to ones account. I was troubleshooting one of my bulbs being offline for about 30 minutes last night. Today I decided to try pairing over and over and over again today and FINALLY I got it to pair after another 30 mins of troubleshooting and repeated pairing attempts.

Wi-fi bulbs not worth the money

Jeff December 12, 2019

Got four bulbs and they worked great from the start, then had a power glitch so my router rebooted. Since then I have done the troubleshooting, removed them and added them again several times and only one is working. The bulbs will still work manually through the light switch but not a good option for wi-fi. The wi-fi plugs were a better choice but still had tough time getting one of those back on wi-fi.

App doesn't allow easy control

MJ February 19, 2022

The app doesn't allow you to quickly turn on/off from home screen. It only can open the app. Which when I'm on my way out the door is not something I want to wait for. I had Philips Wiz Bulbs before this and I've already reinstalled those. Setting temperature of the lights is also tough to get the value you want. When they turn on they're not always 100% bright. The rules and routines are clunkier than wiz. If I didn't have smart bulbs before this I probably wouldn't have noticed. But since I did, I know there are more convenient options out there
