This sound bar was easy to set up and has great sound. We purchased the soundbar with the subwoofer and both were very easy to set up. Packaging was simple and easy to unpack. Performance is great and would 100% recommend for anyone wanting great sound with a simple setup!
Excellent quality for the price. Sounds good and love the wireless sub. Small profile for the speaker itself is nice too.
Got this for a birthday present. Amazing Black Friday buy. I was impressed with the size of the sub woofer. Puts out quality sound. Buy it!!
This soundbar is amazing. I wish I got it last year. I hooked it up to a 50" TCL tv with the optical cable that was included. Plug soundbar %26 subwoofer in. Turn it on %26 download the Yamaha control app. The app finds the soundbar hit update. Then on the app hook up Alexa. It's simple. Alexa turns The bar %26 tv off for you %26 tells you temperature time %26 anything you can ask Google hands free. The sub is wireless the bass is thumping. I luv it. The remote has a seperate volume control to add more bass for music videos. It's great. Almost forgot...on your tv settings go to audio %26 click on optical if you used the optical cable to hook it up. When I set it on auto it did not work. A good thing to know...occasionaly the Yamaha app will kick off the optical %26 the soundbar will not work. Just open the app %26 click on the tv icon. The remote at the top has to be clicked on tv button for optical connection to work. Definitely buy this. It has theatre sound %26 a clear voice button if you are hard of hearing. If this yamaha yas209 with sub has another one that includes wireless speakers for a few dollars more get that one %26 the sound would be even more perfect. The DTS X virtual surround sound works very well with the optical cable without needing an HDMI arc cable. Highly recommend.
Could not get it to work with multiple devices, would only connect to one. so if you use it for the TV and want to play a DVD, had to connect to DVD. Also, didn't notice that much of a sound difference between soundbar and TV speakers. Will be returning.
The sub woofer just roars in the background, and if you do add base it's just a thud…. Not a good sound specially movies…do NOT like this soundbar I used the optical cable, and tv set did not have an earc hdmi port Easy enough to set up…I will be returning this. Also, if you get a text, the tv quits the program and your on have to log back in… don't understand that! If you're looking just to improve on a lousy tv speaker sound, it would be ok..
I am an audiophile and distributed audio products for years. I find this product underwhelming to say the least. The remote-control borders on unusable. It is grossly under-powered and responds at a snail's pace. The sound is average at best. For a Yamaha product it is a total bust.
walmart doesn't stand behind their orders don't order Yamaha YAS-209 never received sound bar walmart advise nothing walmart can do about me not receiving my order after i paid for it
We returned this item. Who makes a new sound bar that is not easily compatible or programmable to a new Visio tv. Then have absolutely ZERO help online or (god forbid) phone! Major fail Yamaha!
Don't buy. Yamaha should be ashamed of putting there name on it. Yamaha used to sell quality sound instruments. Now they sell there name to put on garbage. My 45 dollar tcl soundbar without woofer has better sound. Doesn't even work properly.(makes popping noise.) They will make a quik proffit but ruin the Yamaha reputation. I returned it the day after it arrived in the filthy water damaged box it was delivered in (FedEx). But thats probably Wal Marts fault for not using an outer carton . Really it actually had mud on it.
