great quality/value!

mommyshaye November 7, 2012

Using as a loft. I assembled it myself so it took longer than it would with another body, but precise directions. Sturdy once assembled (i hung from the side and swung, it wobbled but less than expected). This bed is great since you don't have to climb over a rail, the ladder is made for simple entry.

Love the look

Granof6 June 30, 2016

We purchased the beds for the weekends with the grandchildren. They fit great in a not so large room with a single twin bed. The color and finish look great providing a modern look. There is a lot of height between the bottom and top bunk making it comfortable for the older children as well.

Good tall bunk beds

Chad103 January 6, 2014

I'm writing this review the day after I put together the beds. Everything went together very nicely and fit just right. I would say the directions were a little on the slim side but it's an easy bed to put together. The bed is everything I expected, we have 10' ceilings so we were looking for a tall bed and this one is great. There is lots of room to sit up on the bottom bunk. The only down side is its a little wobbly but I am going to get to small clamps and anchor it to a wall and that will solve that problem for sure. I think it's a good tall bed for the money. Not more than I expected it to be but definitely not less

Meh

Got this for my son. With this bed you certainly get what you pay for. The screw holes for the ladder on one end were off by about an inch resulting in an unusable ladder - the rungs are supposed to insert into the corner support bar but they ***JUST*** barely sit inside the edge of the hole instead of going all the way in. Fortunately there's a ladder on the other end so we put the bad end against the wall. There are square plastic tabs that pop in behind each mattress support bar. They can be pretty hard to pop in and I broke several of them in the process. Ended up a few short by the end, but it's "good enough". Would I buy it again knowing what I would get? Maybe if I couldn't spare another dime for something better. I would have rather put in another $50-$100 and gotten something of better quality though.

About what I expected...

jezabellafaery September 5, 2013

All-in-all it's an okay product... a decent value for the price, especially for smaller kids. PROS: The bed was easy to assemble and took us (2 adults and one child) about 2.5 hours to put it together. The metal seems to be pretty sturdy thus far. We love the fact that this one has dual ladders built in on each end and it's tall enough to sit upright on the bottom bunk. It's also deep enough on the top bunk to use the mattresses we already had which is about 10" thick. There's still 4-3 inches of rail above the mattress, enough to prevent a roll-off. CONS: The bed is packaged in a huge box that is really bulky and heavy. The Federal Express delivery person could not lift it alone. We actually received our bed a week later than originally quoted by WalMart. The first bed they shipped to us was damaged (as per FedEx tracking notes) and sent to the return center. The second bed's box was really rough when we got it. One metal slat that the mattress lays on was missing from the box... but we have assembled it anyway. Our son loves it so far! His only complaint has been that the ladder hurts his feet, so we are looking for a way to pad or cushion the steps. I wasn't expecting miracles from this bed... I think it's a good value for the price for a 9 year old boy and it will probably last 3-5 years if we treat it well. It's a cheap quick-fix for space saving and extra bed for sleepovers... which is what we really needed. However, when we are done with it, I don't think there will be much left for resale; it will probably end up going for scrap metal by the time our son outgrows it.

Very Disapointing

Bec31580 April 8, 2014

First of all, the DAY I purchased it, it became a rollback and was selling for $20 cheaper, but of course, I had to pay the full price. Secondly, it came in a million pieces! It could have been somewhat assembled, but we had to assemble the entire thing. Thirdly, the color in life is darker than the picture, so it looks like a pewter or charcoal, which I don't care, just saying. Fourthly, some of the pieces came bent and smashed in so badly, to the point that my husband had to use a hammer to bang them out or straighten them enough to be screwed together. Once it was together, which took 2 adults about 2 1/2 hours to assemble, it is pretty sturdy and I obviously feel comfortable to put my 10 year old and my six year old on it. I even feel comfortable letting my 2 year old sit on the bottom bed. My 180 pound husband even climbed on it, but we built it, so we feel pretty confident. Now, the last thing that I did not realize about this particular model, is this bed DOES NOT separate into two beds. This is only a bunk bed for eternity. Had I known that, I probably would have gone with a different model bed. I was just being honest, I hope this helps someone.

Nice look, not very sturdy

ThriftyBeachMom3 May 28, 2014

We bought these bunk beds for our beach house that we rent. It took my very skilled, airplane mechanic father-in-law almost three hours to put two sets of these bunk beds together. They are very rickety once they are up and move even when my 30 and 40 pound children are just simply climbing the ladder to get to the top. The top bunk is extremely difficult to make up. I tried standing on the sides, but it was just too rickety and the metal hurt my feet to stand for too long trying to put sheets on, and I am only 135 lbs. I am very worried about how these will fair long term in a rental home. I am thinking of sending them back and paying a little extra for something I found that is solid wood and much sturdier. If this is all you can afford, you have smaller children and you can be sure they will use them safely, then they aren't that bad. But if you have older and/or bigger kids or you too were thinking of them for a rental, I would really not buy these.

Too tall and noisy for our liking

LoveTrueBlood January 5, 2013

We purchased two sets of these bunk beds as we've just moved 850 miles from family & friends. Thinking we could use the extra beds when said friends & fam come to visit, we thought this was a good investment. These are very tall bunk beds - while the person on the bottom bunk has a ton of "head room", the person on the top bunk is limited. Also, these are squeaky and noisy when kids are climbing down from top bunk in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. We tried placing them up against the walls but then they bumped the walls when a child is climbing up or down and we'd rather spare our walls from that kind of torture and wear. Just about every time a kid moves, you hear squeaking. I would not recommend these as they are some what flimsy, noisy and too tall for our liking. Good luck with your search for an afforadable, decent bunk bed.

More hassle than it's worth

Risa August 12, 2016

I bought this bed because it has a simple/minimalist design I was looking for. It took longer to ship than the original estimated time, but for free shipping I find it acceptable. Our major obstacle with this bed was that ours wasn't shipped with instructions. Since there are about ten billion pieces to put together, we couldn't quite wing it. After searching the internet for ages, I still couldn't find the instructions - even on the manufacturers website. The model number on our box was not producing a match. It took 3 contact attempts from us to get a response from the manufacturer. When we received the email with the IM, none of the part IDs matched the pieces that we had (ie: attach I to Z with bolt 3). We had to rely on the pictures to figure out which pieces were which. From there, the assembly was extremely easy. It took two people just under 90 minutes to assemble the whole bed, mattresses and all. Cons after assembly: it is nearly impossible to change the sheets on the top mattress. It's a tall bed, which we knew, but it doesn't have a good enough landing point to reach over and tuck in sheets and whatnot - you have to be sitting on the top bunk itself to complete the task (weight limit 200lbs). Also, it does not feel solid at all. It doesn't necessarily feel like it's going to fall over as our 10 yr old girl climbs up/down the ladder but it sways all directions in the process. We didn't have any squeaking issues that other reviewers mentioned, so I guess we're very fortunate in that matter. All in all, assembled and used, it's not bad to look at and it feels like it will last us long enough to be worth the effort. I would not, however, recommend this product to anyone who doesn't have patience, experience in furniture building, or a knack for puzzles. Not a sturdy bed.

melloyello78 January 18, 2013

We were not happy with this bed and have returned it. It was pretty easy to put together but not very sturdy at all. The bed slats sunk down when you got on it and it swayed a lot when you climbed up. Also, if you ever want to take it down (if you were moving or something), you might as well throw it away. All the plastic spacers break and a couple of the screws striped out when putting together. Nice looking bed, but not sturdy. I didn't want my kids sleeping on it.
