Zatarain's Cheddar Jalapeno Cornbread Mix, 12.5 oz Box

well you can't go wrong with zamarans product I love jalapeno cornbread I usually get Dave that's really good and this looks like it might be more fluffy but it's got the cheddar and I like the jalapenos and I love to take the jalapeno hot dogs by Oscar Mayer jalapeno cheese and chop those up or you can leave them bigger bites or if you got a ram pan if you want to make them just you know and leave them long and put it in a room with h you know like you would cut a pie I just love that you know it's kind of like a corn dog but I love the jalapenos and yes I would have to eat it with some mustard and you know what I might try adding a little mustard into the cornbread mix it's just so easy and it's a good dish and if you like cornbreads and you like jalapeno you'll like this and I know that this product is good and I like that it has the cheddar with the jalapenos so I'm making it today yes I am a cornbread I don't know which way I'm going to do it usually I just chop them up and put in there in a square pan but I might do the round pan today and put just the long length like a like I would cut a pie into eight pieces yeah or whatever it takes all right enjoy it took a while for me to get this cuz it kept running out it must be good and I like zatamaran's products

This makes a very good pan of cornbread. nice texture and taste. All prices on cornbread mixes are too high. except maybe Jiffy. I tried this Zatarain's cornbread mix to compliment the Zatarain's Jambalaya. The two went perfectly together.

They best cornbread I've ever tasted! I'm not a butter person, so i don't think all the butter is necessary.

Better than Dave's. Really surprised! Slightly coarser grain; cooks up fluffier than others. Quick and easy. Delighted to find.

This is my favorite cornbread mix! Not hot at all! I usually add a can of creamed corn instead of the milk/water and it's so yummy!!

Tasty, but not enough spices. Add more jalapeño and it would be great. If you are looking for mild flavor, you might like it. Cooking time needed more minutes. I would still recommend.

I have purchased Zatarain's products for years with good results. I bought this thinking there would be a bit of a "kick" and cheesy taste. This wasn't exactly what I got. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. It cooks up nicely but the flavor has a mild jalapeno taste without the hot flavor. The cheese taste is minimal. Texture was also a bit disappointing as it was crumbly and drier than I prefer. I may try this again and add more jalapenos , grated cheese and a teaspoon of vegetable oil. But, if you have to do that, you could add the same ingredients to a cornbread mix that is half the cost of this one. Based upon the end result I was expecting, this mix didn't measure up.
