Zatarain's Gluten Free Reduced Sodium Jambalaya Rice Dinner Mix, 12.0 oz Box

Never used this product before. It was easy to make, we used chicken breast for our protein. I was amazed, my kids loved it! Next day I went to the store and bought two more boxes and made it again for dinner!! It's cheap, quick and kids like it. It's a win!

As a busy mom of 3, one of my favorite things is coming home after a long day and spending less time making dinner and more time with my family. I tried the Zatarain's Reduced Sodium Jambalaya Rice Dinner Mix as an easy weeknight dinner option for my me and my husband. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it still was despite the lower sodium content. We like making healthy swaps, so appreciated the reduced sodium, though we *did* add some salt to the dish to bring out the flavor and spice even more. Sometimes rice dishes frustrate me because the rice either cooks too fast or takes much longer than the box says. For this mix, though, I followed the directions on the box and the rice was perfectly cooked in the 25 minutes the box said it would take! Used smoked andouille chicken sausage that I browned first to get the flavor of some of those brown bits. Both of us agree this was a success and would eat again!

Zatarain's Reduced Sodium Jambalaya Rice Dinner Mix is just right for those nights when you want something healthy and hearty to feed your crew quickly, without a lot of fuss. I love that it's so easy to prepare and so versatile. I add additional vegetables and proteins on nights we have company over or are having a BBQ or cook out. Some shrimp, sausage and chicken added into the mix and everyone comes back for seconds, every time! I most definitely would recommend it to any size of household that loves good food!

really enjoyed this reduced sodium Jambalaya Rice Dinner Mix. The flavor was excellent, and if I hadn't seen the packaging, I never would have guessed it contained less sodium than the original. I prepared it with smoked sausage, and the flavors paired perfectly. The rice cooked up just right, absorbing the liquid well without becoming soupy or dry. Zatarain's jambalaya is a tasty and quick dinner solution. The instructions are very easy and simple to follow. All you need to do is pre cook a protein of your choice ( chicken, sausage or shrimp) and add it to the rice but before it's done and you have a complete meal. The jambalaya comes out light fluffy and moist.

It's was so yummy my kids also loved it. Amazing taste you can taste all the spices and not to salty. I just added smoked sausage and shrimp threw in some bell pepper and garlic. We will definitely be trying this and other Zatarain's products. Thank you for letting sample Jambalaya.

I love one pot meals and was very excited to try this. It was easy to make and ready in about 30 minutes. I used chicken and sausage. It tasted really good for a low sodium variety. There was still a lot of flavor, but I'll probably try the regular version next time. Also going to add shrimp, bell peppers and follow some of the tips on the box! This is great for a quick and hearty flavorful meal.

I have enjoyed Zataran products for years. As time has passed, I have to make choices that are a bit better for my health… including foods that are have lower sodium. Though this sounds like a bummer, low sodium foods have improved in taste over the years, INCLUDING Zataran's Jumbalaya Rice. Easy peasy to cook up, and it's a quick, robust meal.
