Zatarain's Non-GMO Black Beans & Rice Dinner Mix, 7.0 oz Box

I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful this was for a boxed rice mix. It was very easy to prepare, and the rice cooked up tender without becoming mushy. The black beans added a nice texture, and the seasoning was savory and well balanced without being overly spicy. I added sliced smoked sausage to make it a complete meal, but I think it would also be delicious with chicken, shrimp, or some extra vegetables. The portion was enough for a few people as a side dish, although it might be a little small if you're serving it as the main meal. It was also slightly saltier than I personally prefer, but not enough to keep me from enjoying it. Overall, this is a tasty and convenient option for a busy weeknight, and I would definitely purchase it again.

My family and I really enjoyed this Black Beans & Rice Dinner Mix. I paired it with beef sausage that I sliced and fried in a pan, to make a black bean and rice sausage meal. My children loved this meal and have already asked for me to make it again, which is always a plus when the whole family enjoys the same meal. Another plus was It was easy to make. All in all this was a solid, quick easy meal add on worth having again.

Bonus: it was a winner with the kids! I sautéed my sausage first and added bell pepper as well. Over all, I really liked it and I'm interested in adding it to our repertoire.

I really wanted to be critical of this rice but it was actually FANTASTIC! I didn't see how the rice to water ratio would work, but it did. I didn't believe that the beans would be cooked in the same time as the rice. I also didn't believe that the seasoning would be great. I can admit i was wrong. This rice was brilliant. Well flavored, cooked perfectly and really tasty. I cook my own rice from scratch usually and this was brilliant and so easy for people not used to cooking rice. The only "extra" that i added was some spring onion that i tossed in at the end for a little color. So yes, this will be a staple of my cupboard for when i want a great addition to a meal.

I have always been a huge fan of Zatarain's Rice Dinner Mixes because they are always full of flavor and easy to make. I recently tried Zatarain's Black Beans & Rice Dinner Mix and fell inlove! It was so simple and easy to make, and is by far my favorite rice dinner meal I have made in a long time. It is packed full of flavor and has a kick of heat, but nothing too spicy. It's perfect with so many meats. I cooked mine with Polish Sausage. My whole family loved it, including my seven year old!

I was really appetizing, my self and my children as well went great with our meal we were making was something that I would consider purchasing from our future meals as well 10 out of 10. It's for sure.

I really enjoyed this product and so did my father. I thought the flavor profile was delicious. The rice was fluffy and moist. I used it in a turkey taco bowl and it paired perfectly with the other ingredients.

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. It was something different to try and easy to put together. I love a one pot meal but if I purchase any of the Zatarain's products in the future, I will be trying the low sodium variety because the meal was pretty salty.

I opted for a chicken sausage but you can honestly do whatever kind you like or have on hand. It is easy, fast and flavorful! Filled out bellies and we will be buying again.

I like Zatarain's products but this Black Beans & Rice just isn't one of them. I made this as packaged to fully judge. The pros are that I can choose my own add ins, or not, and the rice and sauce are tasty. The seasonings are good for family meals, not spicy at all. The dehydrated vegetables are minimal. The cons are definitely the black beans. They are small, and even after following the package instructions, the beans have an unpalatable hardness to them. I let this sit to see if the beans would fully hydrate but they did not. 3 stars. It is filling and easy to make.
