arrived on time well packed!
Great stuff for one of my Saab 9-3 Aero V6s…. Never mix this with anything else, they're sensitive that way.
Picked this up because I was low on Antifreeze. Comes in a 1 gallon container. Ready to use and pre-diluted 50/50. It states it is organic and it's OEM approved. Works for GM so I researched and it says it is safe for my vehicle, an 09 Pontiac Vibe. No issues so far. So far so good. I would recommend, just check for the vehicle, each is approved for rack make. I would definitely recommend. No need to mix or risk danger.
This is a very handy and ready to use product right out of the container. Back in the good old days I remember purchasing antifreeze which was not mixed because it wasn't available. And every year I would drain the old antifreeze and replace with the new. And it was not much fun if I got the mixture wrong and had to drain some fluid out and add more antifreeze. Where I lived the temperature did get to 30 degrees below zero so one had to be careful. There were a lot of stories about things that went wrong due to incorrect antifreeze protection and I sure did not like working outside in the cold. Prestone was the 800 pound gorilla back then and now there are other major brand getting in the antifreeze market. Additionally, no longer is a one size fits all vehicle and engine types so one has to be careful. I sure do not liking to cause unnecessary problems. Antifreeze is also important in the summer months and during hot weather because antifreeze raises the boiling point of fluid and that also provides protection throughout the year. This item is good for 5 years of use so one can feel comfortable in that respect. Typically I have the dealership change and replace the antifreeze in my vehicle in a timely manner so all I have to do is check the coolant level every month and add more coolant if needed. Very simple indeed.
This is a good product. I wanted to make sure of it before I wrote a review. I love that it is pre mixed so you don't have to add toxic chemical to kitchen containers. My only complaint is pouring from a full bottle is almost impossible to avoid spilling though. The product works good and I have not had any issues since adding to my truck. Thanks Zerex
I recently had a radiator hose burst on my car. Lost all my coolant. I noticed some rusty color to the coolant so after I replaced defective hose I filled up with plain water and added a radiator flush to it to clean out my entire system. Glad I did. Flushed out entire system and then added this Zerex organic antifreeze / coolant. My car has an actual temperature gauge. During both winter and summer gauge would registure just a shade past the half way mark both in summer and winter. Since I added this new coolant the gauge now hits at less then the half way mark. So this has made a difference. Plus it is organic and much safer then the toxic stuff I was using. So I say give ittry it will probably work well for you too.
I've always been interested in diy projects. This has become more prevalent over the last few years of my life where we have seen increases in costs to services, especially in the automotive industry. What I used to be able to take care of in a garage or under a tree now has become a little more difficult due to advances in technology and reduced space in the engine compartments. One thing that hasn't changed much is radiator and coolant replacement except for the smaller amounts of coolant needed in many small engine vehicles. Over the past winter I had a heating problem in my Jeep. After a few diagnostic overviews from mechanics and the dealership I began researching what I could do that would take the least effort in the most cost efficient way. I checked my coolant levels and sure enough it was low. After adding some it was a relief to see that it took care of the issue fairly quickly and cheaply. This coolant is very good from what I've seen. Working for a delivery service, fleet management is one part of my responsibility on the safety committee. I have to recommend the most cost effective and efficient way possible to keep our vehicles running safely and cost effectively. This is one of the brands I've suggested for our Ford Transit vans and we've never been disappointed so far. Pre-diluted so there's no measuring and fewer steps when replacing or adding.
I have been in the automotive repair business for over 43 years now. I started working as a mechanic helper at a Ford dealership and moved to Cadillac, Pontiac, Buick, Datsun, Chevrolet, Harley-Davidson and independent shops across this nation, working on everything from heavy duty 10 ton trucks to motorcycles. I became a Chevrolet master technician in the 1980's and after retiring from turning wrenches now work part time in the auto part sales business. I have seen a lot of people buy the cheapest coolant that they could, just to keep the car running so they could try and make ends meet. Each decade that goes by I see more and more changes to the automobile industry good and bad. But the one thing is in my opinion, automobiles have come a long way and last for hundreds of thousands miles more than when I started working on cars in the 1070's. Today's auto makers use different formulas of coolant to protect the different parts in each automobile. So no longer can you just buy the green coolant and add it to the radiator, but most manufactures have their own additives to protect their engines. I will always advise people to buy the right formula that goes with their vehicle and Valvoline Zerex is at the top of that list
It's a little difficult to review this product because obviously it's hard to see any results until much time passes. What I can say is that I did my research and this product has very good reviews. I have always trusted the Valvoline products. It has a 5-year / 150,000 miles guarantee. I'm not sure what that entails but it must be worth something! It is good to minus -34 degrees Fahrenheit and as hot as 265° f. Another thing I like about it is it is premixed so it takes all the guesswork out of mixing. Valvoline products have always lived up to their name for me so I expect this product to do the same.
Organic coolant is a good solution for modern engines. This is best for modern engines that are made of aluminum. It comes prediluted so you don't have to worry about mixing it. Xerex is made by Valvoline, a brand I have trusted for 50 years. It is working fine keeping my truck cool, and i expect it will for years to come!
