Zircon StudSensor WM5 Edge Finding Stud Finder with Picture Hanging Kit

This stud sensor can find studs in 3/4 in drywall. Most of them only work up to 1/2 inch thick so this is definitely an upgrade. We have used it to find studs during home remodeling. We also used it to find the studs to hang heavy things on the wall. This has it's own pinch grip design which makes it easier to hold and handle. The picture hooks are sturdy and well made and it comes with a variety of size, 4 to be exact. It has gotten a lot of use and continues to be reliable. It also came with a 9 volt battery that was needed for use.

Very easy to use and comes ready to go. takes a V9 battery which is provided and picture hanging kit. side button powers it on and than i just ran it along the wall. shows up green when looking and once stud is located it glows red. ran it along a few walls and located the stud every time. very easy to use.

This is an easy to use stud finder. The Zircon StudSensor WM5 Edge Finding Stud Finder with Picture Hanging Kit does exactly what it is supposed to do: finds the edge of the stud. It identifies first one edge by lighting up both on the device and wall (it also beeps) and then you continue on and the arrow lights up again on the StudSensor and the wall when you find the other side of the stud (where it beeps again). It is small enough that I can use it and hold it in my hand. It is also lightweight and easy to cart around. The picture hanging kit has different hooks and nails included as well as a guide to let you know which type of hook/nail to use for your project.

I have always wanted one of these, but not knowing anything about carpentry or painting, etc, I never knew how to pick one. This one is PERFECT! Easy for a beginner, the directions are simple, just pull the tab off the battery, place it on wall, and push side button as you scan the wall. It will beep until it finds the edge of stud, then it will turn solid red, with a little arrow that points directly at the stud. No more wondering or guessing where to hang my pictures, and no more hitting wires with the nail and knocking out my doorbell or lights on one side of the wall. I'm hanging pictures just for the fun of it, lol. I recommend

I received The Zircon StudSensor WM5 Edge Finding Stud Finder with Picture Hanging I have tried this on every wall in my house with mixed results. I have had many different stud finders over the years with limited success. I had several different people try to use it to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong. It is more comfortable in your hand and easier to hold flat against the wall than any other I have tried. I found that there are some walls that just give false readings--fire walls (the wall between your house and garage, or walls between different units of condos/apartments). My staircase wall was also temperamental due to extra blocking. It lights up when you first come to the edge of a stud. But eventually I got so pretty reliable result using this stud finder. And definitely more consistent results than other stud finders I have used in the past. None are 100%, at least for me. Which is why I had several other people give it a try. The brass picture hangers work well for lighter pictures and frames.

This is a nice tool to have on hand. This is a great tool to have on hand. It tells you exactly where the stud. No more guessing or putting unnecessary holes in the wall. Uses a 9 volt battery, and comes with a assorted nails and hooks. This would make a great gift.

Received the Zircon StudSensor WM5 Edge Finding Stud Finder with Picture Hanging Kit this week. Have never really tried to use one. Instantly, it's a gift for my dad. No new projects at this time. I'm just ready to hang my paint nite art on my walls. With these older modeled buildings you need a little light to guide you through. The studsensor illuminated upon finding studs. No studs allowed. Designed to quickly find the edges of wood and metal studs and joists. Light weight and easy to use. The perfect toy for any interior decorator by heart or profession. Batteries not included.

Batteries not included; worked fine when tested. Easy to hold, lightweight. There are felt pads on the underside so you don't scratch surfaces. Recommend as a simple stud finder, maybe for a starter toolbox. I did receive this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

This stud finder is very inconsistent in its readings. It will pass over the location of known studs not alerting or will start beeping indicating it lost its calibration. The instructions state that a rough surface can cause this and recommends using a thin piece of cardboard / poster board on the wall to smooth the surface. This helps marginally. When a stud is detected moving slowly back and forth gives inconsistent alerts to where the edge of the stud is. The only good I can say is this stud finder comes with bonus nails and hook hangers.
