This stud sensor can find studs in 3/4 in drywall. Most of them only work up to 1/2 inch thick so this is definitely an upgrade. We have used it to find studs during home remodeling. We also used it to find the studs to hang heavy things on the wall. This has it's own pinch grip design which makes it easier to hold and handle. The picture hooks are sturdy and well made and it comes with a variety of size, 4 to be exact. It has gotten a lot of use and continues to be reliable. It also came with a 9 volt battery that was needed for use.
Zircon StudSensor WM5 Edge Finding Stud Finder with Picture Hanging Kit makes it a dream when hanging picture frames. This kit takes the guesswork out , so there's no more guessing on where to hit the wall. I can't ever hang pictures again without this kit.
This was tricky in the beginning and I was getting frustrated because I was skipping over the instructions (being lazy because I was excited to use it). Once I finally calmed down and read the instructions it was so simple and easy! I was hanging a huge photo I purchased from Hobby Lobby in my dining area and this was the perfect tool to assist me. It comes with assorted hooks and nails. The 9V battery was included. I just marked my location on my wall and the sensor did the rest.
This is an easy review because the main question is: Does Zircon StudSensor WM5 Edge Finding Stud Finder work? I can gladly say, “Yes. Yes, it does.” As the attached photos show, I have three bikes I needed to hang to create room—plus, although they are nice bikes who wants bikes lying around in your living room/home office? Since these bikes are kinda expensive I needed to make sure the brackets are undoubtedly secure to the studs. Can't have them falling off because they were only hanging to the drywall, can we? Using the Zircon StudSensor, I was able to locate the studs easily, confirmed by them all being 16 inches apart. Mounting the brackets, up went my bikes, space created—and most importantly, I'm confident they are secure because I used a stud finder instead of the hit-or-miss ‘tap on the wall' method. Lastly, I'm glad Zircon included the needed 9-volt battery, because I don't have any lying around. Very pleased with a product that simply works.
Zircon StudSensor WM5 Edge Finding Stud Finder with Picture Hanging Kit Okay, how many times have you gone to hang a picture and ended up with several extra holes because you missed the stud. This thing is great! It is spot on. Just press the button and drag it across the wall until the light turns green, there's your stud. This Zircon stud finder has a laser built in for more accurate markings. Also, this one came with the bonus hardware picture hanging kit. I used it to hang a sound bar above my flat screen TV and it worked great! I have so many picture that need to be hung and here is my new favorite tool. The only con I found is that it had a little harder time on my textured wall, but it did still work. It's a keeper!
This stud sensor has been a lifesaver for me when trying to hang pictures. When I push the button and scan it across my wall it will light up when there is a stud. It also lights up with an arrow pointing down so I can mark it to where it finds a stud. Holding the stud sensor feels comfortable in my hand; it is lightweight and has a pinch grip. Also in the package was a bag of assorted nails and hooks that I could use to hang my pictures. I really like this stud sensor especially where it has the arrow pointing down and I can simply mark where it finds a stud.
I have to find studs in the walls of houses we build all the time. A lot of times, the studs are not there for special request in our homes. This makes it so much easier to rule out reworking a wall to add deadwood. This is so much easier then pounding on a wall. I highly recommend this. It hasn't been wrong, yet.
I was surprised, it actually works! Very lightweight and small, bottom has soft felt like fabric on it so when moving across the wall it doesn't leave marks. Light is super bright and fits right in my hand. I had never used a stud finder before and honestly didn't expect too much but it actually works!
This stud sensor is really cool. It makes easy to find the edges of wood or metal studs. It lights up when you find the edge of a stud. It also comes with an assortment of hooks and nails. It comes with a free battery. There are clear instructions and a barcode which links to a video. I look forward to using it.
This stud finder is very inconsistent in its readings. It will pass over the location of known studs not alerting or will start beeping indicating it lost its calibration. The instructions state that a rough surface can cause this and recommends using a thin piece of cardboard / poster board on the wall to smooth the surface. This helps marginally. When a stud is detected moving slowly back and forth gives inconsistent alerts to where the edge of the stud is. The only good I can say is this stud finder comes with bonus nails and hook hangers.
