DAP DryDex 8 oz Pink/White Dry Time Indicator Spackling All Purpose

I am using this product as part of a craft project, and not for its original purpose. I have created a textured canvas to put on my wall above my fireplace that I do not use. It is not quick drying, which serves my purposes for this project as I can go back and re-texturize over and over again until it looks the way I desire. I can layer on as much or as little as I like in order to get the right texture. I can remove the product before it dries if I desire that as well. All in all, I am extremely happy with this product for the purpose that I am using it for. It spreads easily. It has a somewhat creamy consistency. I am in the process of painting over it with acrylic paint and the paint is vibrant and the texture stands out nicely.

I used this spackle to patch a bit of drywall that had been dented. It’s pink when it’s wet so it’s incredibly easy to see where you have added previous layers. The dried spackle can be sanded before applying paint for a smooth finish. It’s also easy to wash off even if any gets on clothes. There isn’t a strong smell to it either. Drys fast and gives good coverage.

Purchased to use with our granddaughter on her mask project. Worked well in applying over cardboard to mold and smooth. Sanded well after drying. Love goes on pink and dries white. Plan to use on walls where nail heads are. Cleans up easily with water. Comes in a variety of sizes.

Love this stuff for small repairs. Filled a couple holes pretty easily. Also had a spot on my ceiling where a seam was showing and this helped . I used drywall tape for the seam and holes and it worked well with this. Love that its pink when it goes on white when dried.

this product is mostly used to repair small holes in walls before you paint. it's good because it goes on pink and turns white when it is dry. I found another small use for it. my ceilings are all white and I'm not really a good painter so when I accidentally get a little paint on my ceiling I use a little bit of this compound to cover the smudge on the ceiling. because it's pink it's easy to just cover smudge and then it turns white and you can't even see my booboo.

DAP DryDex is a thick , heavier weight spackle that spreads easily with a putty knife, dries quickly and sands to a smooth surface. I recently used to fill in a square wall area where a thermostat had been. Since the area was almost 1/4” deep, I used thin adhesive mesh strips under the DryDex. I applied 3 coats with 1-2 hour dry times. Since the smooth spackle finish doesn’t match the exact wall texture, I used a mini paint roller over wet spackle to create a match. Most spackle products are paintable, but it’s best to prime with area for best results. Don’t buy large quantities unless you’re planning to use as the product gets thicker. The pink color fades as the product ages.

DAP is perfect for small nail holes, large bolt holes and all the weird things that people do on walls and rental houses. It works well. I generally only need one, possibly two coats . It's super easy to work with because you don't have to sand it, you can just use a damp towel after it's dried to feather and clean up the edges. plus, I love that it's pink and it's white when it dries so I don't have to wait around forever.

the pink to start and change color when dry is a great idea but this stuff was way to dry right out of the container.it was pink, but was very hard to spread if you had it on your putty lnife very long. i was puttying screw holes in drywall and couldnt do 3 or 4 holes before this stuff was rolling up when i tried to spread it. i wasted more than i used, and i olny used it once and when the lid went back on it didnt come off again. i went and bought just regular spackeling and it worked fine. maybe this sat on the shelf a long time or something but the wood putty i bought was the same way there was actully a liquid setting on top of the wood putty when i ooened it likenit had seperated over time.

i really liked this stuff until i realized i could get the same thing for a qaurter of the price, it just doesn't change color.. big whoop cheaper stuff works just as good!
