I use and prefer iCellTech batteries (312 size) for my Starkey hearing aids. They are dependable, last somewhat longer than some of the others, and the shipping and quality are good. Yes, they have the child resistant plastic enclosures so you need a scissor to open the package. Nice.
the packaging takes a great deal of finesse and a strong pair of scissors to get to each battery. that part stinks. make the packages the way they used to be and let the customer be responsible for children accessing the batteries.
If I could give it zero stars I would have. I tried for 30 minutes to get the package open and couldn't figure it out. Even the girl at customer service couldn't figure it out. The lousy instructions say to cut it with scissors. That means whenever you're out and about and your batteries go dead, you have to carry a pair of scissors with you all the time to try to open it. I tried two different pairs of scissors and no one can get the package open to get the batteries out. Save your time and money.
I've purchased this product before and was happy with it, but this latest purchase came in child protective packaging that's almost impossible to get into. So crazy! I won't be buying this brand anymore.
This review is for the new packaging. The batteries have always been great The new childproof packaging is near impossible to open for the large percentage of your customers being older and having arthritic hands. I won't be able to order these anymore
I have bought iCellTech 312 batteries in the past without any problems. The last box I bought were absolutely terrible. Half of them didn't work and the ones that did work lasted just a few days. I bought another brand which lasted a week in my hearing aids. I will NEVER buy iCellTeck batteries again!!!!!!
The mention on the package should be amended to say "Body builder resistant Packaging". A zero star rating should also be introduced for this particular item. Even with the sharpest tool, it took my very strong husband 28 minutes to free ONE battery. How such a lousy packaged item is still for sale is truly amazing. Be ready to have band aids and an updated Tetanus shot handy prior to attempt to open the package !
It is nearly impossible to open the individual cell packaging. the scissor is not effective, you have to rip tear and pull to get the battery out. the wheel does not turn as directions say it should so you have to go through this with every battery you need. it may be childproof but quite unnecessarily difficult. I will never buy these again.
I thought people were probably being overdramatic on how hard these were to open. I'm a fairly young person with excellent dexterity and I even had major problems with accessing these child proof batteries. These batteries are encased in super hard plastic. I used chicken sheers and I still had a problem. Even after following the instructions exactly I cut myself under the fingernail with a sharp plastic. It actually caused me to bleed and it's quite painful.. I will never buy the brand again because they don't specifically say child proof on the outside that I noticed. I highly recommend not purchasing these batteries. If you're an elderly person, have any vision or dexterity issues don't even think about it even if they're free.! This review has absolutely nothing to do with the seller. Seller sent batteries as expected in expected timeframe.. seller actually gets an A
Batteries are fine, the packaging is atrocious. This isn't child-proof, this is consumer proof. There is a pretty good chance that someone will get hurt by either the scissors that are required or by the sharp plastic bits you have to cut the packaging into to get to the batteries.
